I walk through the halls of my school, Peter at my side. We have been best friends for what feels like our whole lives.
We met at five years old, when Peter was being bullied by some older kid. I wanted to help, so I ran up to the kid and punched him. Of course being that I was a tiny five year old, it didn't do much but Peter was forever thankful for that gesture.
You were both now 15 years old, facing high school problems now. The one thing you didn't know was that Peter was facing much different problems than you.
"Y/n, you have calc right?" You two had memorized each other's schedules to make sure that you could meet up during the day and walk to your classes together.
You nod your head and continue walking to Ms. Laney's classroom near the end of the hall.
As soon as you get there, you wave Peter off as he heads to his first class, physics.
As the day went on, you became more tired, and you just wanted to go home. Luckily, you had one more period to go.
As soon as hell was over, you decided you wanted to go get something to eat. You told Peter where you were going, and continued on your way.
You went to a small bakery to get yourself a cupcake because you definitely deserved it.
"Hey, can I have one of those chocolate and vanilla cupcakes over there?" You asked the lady who worked the cash.
"Sure thing!" Donna, as it said on her name tag, laughed as she got the cupcake. "Everybody likes these ones."
You paid for the cupcake and sat down, doing a little bit of reading since you didn't get to last night because of all the homework you had.
Just then, Donna let out an earth shattering scream. The window had been smashed, and it felt like the floor was tilting. This was scary, because the baker was actually a five floors up from the actual ground.
There was another smashing sound, coming from the other window. And the building seemed to tilt some more.
"Holy shit!" You mutter putting your book in your bag, and trying to get to the cafe door. The wall behind you exploded, leaving the bakery wide open.
Almost there, bag on your shoulder, the building shook, causing your grip to slip from the door handle. Screaming, you slid your way on the floor before you could finally grab onto the bottom of a table that was nailed to the floor. Your feet were dangling off the side, and you could feel your grip slipping.
You looked down, and gulped. It was pretty far down. Your hands were sweating, and you didn't know how long you were going to last, holding on.
You couldn't bear it anymore. There was pain in your hands from your death grip, and your arms were shaky. You couldn't possibly hold on anymore.
With one last scream, your hands slipped and down you went, to your death. The whole way down, you though about your family, friends, and Peter. You braced yourself for the harness of the ground, breaking your bones. You were now wondering was death was like.
But you didn't crash. Suddenly, a figure swooped by, wrapping their arm around your waist. You felt like a feather, being blown in the wind.
You were finally set down on some soft grass. You opened your eyes to see what had happened. It was SpiderMan.
You hadn't really though much about SpiderMan before. He just kind of swung around and saved people. But now that he had saved you, well now it was different. It was like you were seeing him through a different pair of eyes.
You shared an awkward moment of silence before he left to go help the others.
The next day, you wouldn't stop talking about it. It wasn't like you had a choice though. News had run all over the school, and now everyone knew what had happened to you. They asked if you were ok, if it was scary, and what SpiderMan was like. That was one of your favourite questions.
You would not stop talking about him. About five times during the day, Peter would tell you to stop, but you wouldn't. You were absolutely in awe. During that day, you declared that you were in love with him.
That may sound crazy, but you thought that I was the most genuine kind of love. Not as in all the romance, but as in a way that was so incredibly appreciated that it could be considered love. You were so happy that he chose to save you. He risked his life for you.
A few days had passed, and everything was still going on like this. Peter was still annoyed, and you were still gushing about SpiderMan. Lately, Peter would just leave you alone, and disappear for hours. You wanted to know what he was up to.
One day, you followed him. He went into an alley way, but you lost him. As you were looking for him, you noticed something blue and red slip up the stairs to the top of an appartement building. SpiderMan.
You followed him up there, and walk up to him as he takes off his mask. His hair looks so familiar. He turns around not know that you are there, and both of you stand in shock.
It's Peter. Peter is SpiderMan. Peter saved you.
All you can do is hug him. He hugs you back, and you breath in his sweet scent.
"Look Y/n I need to tell you something." He looks into your eyes.
"No kidding." You laugh still in shock. "Thank you for saving me."
"I like you." He says quietly. He looks away.
He likes you. He actually likes you.
"Peter..." You start saying sympathetically. You don't know if you actually love him. Hell, you don't even know if you like him.
"I'm not going to hid it anymore. I can't. I want you to give me a chance. Please...?"
Peter isn't like most boys. He would be a good boyfriend, and you know it. Sometimes risks are worth it. "Yes."
