12 - RISK

Hunger, fatigue, fear, and thirst
She'd have to get to the food first
Before he threw it all away
And she wouldn't live another day

Quietly she crept into the light
Insides squirming with dread and fright
Climb the counter, get to the plate
She has no time to sit or wait

But he was there, watching the scene
With curiosity, his eyes did gleam.
Night after night, he watched her take,
The leftover meat, the bread, the cake.

One night while she ate a leftover snack
She felt his blue eyes on her back
She tried to sprint away, in fear
That the end of her life was drawing near

Hands slammed down, on her right and left
She was about to be punished for her theft
By the towering giant, with hair of green
Who's hands wrapped 'round her like a machine

They lifted her high above the familiar ground,
His loud panicked breathing the only sound,
To penetrate the silence, which seemed defiant
Not to lighten the meeting between tiny and giant

"I won't hurtcha, I just wanted to say hi,
And tell you my name was Jacksepticeye,"
She managed a wave, he broke into a smile
"Ye know I've been watchin' ye for a while."

"I saw ye taking all of my food,"
"Yes I'm sorry! I know it was rude,
To borrow from you, I live in your walls.
Please don't kill me!" The tiny girl bawls.

"No one's killing anyone." Jack says, smiling bright
He cups her form and hugs her tight
"Even though you're scared of my size,
She looks straight up into his baby blue eyes.

"Can you stay with me?"

Alt. title - Stay
A g/t poem inspired by NuclearSugarBomb's poems in their G/T book. I really like this style of story writing and may use it more often.
