Some people choose not to see that shadows will kill
They say it protects them, looks after them, still
They flinch a little when the air turns chill
But smile to themselves and move on.
I choose to fear the blanket of black,
For I can see the monster behind their back,
Possessive hands race their way down to attack.
And imprison them in a cage of glass.
Some people choose not to run for cover.
They say "The giant will protect unlike any other."
They dance in its palm; let a coarse shirt smother
Them into a burning hot 'hug'.
"You /idiots!/."
I choose to shy away as soon as a giant draws near!
I choose to obey my well-worn fear!
I choose to not become a bloody smear!
"To the giant, you are nothing more than a mere
PEST!"
Some people choose not to heed the footsteps' warning
The tremulous call of a bloody day dawning.
A giant looming over the borrower too busy scorning,
To notice his family's terror aborning.
Because the colossal isn't the one they know
He always watches his feet, his hair isn't red, his eyes aren't cruel.
But his /are/.
"Got'cha."

I haven't posted in eons.
Me inside: *screaming*
But here's a poem instead! Because now I'm in an Advanced English class and we're doing creative writing I might as well practice my other forms of literature. I haven't written a poem in ages so don't attack my weird words please!
Based on my post on Tumblr entitled the same thing, pretty much highlighting the differences between two kinds of tinies. This is a little edited, but pretty much the same post vv.
"The sound of a giant stepping behind you must be really comforting. Knowing those same shoes keep a respectful distance to not bring fear, or the same shadow brings a sense of protection, being watched over by the giant you trust to stand on the floor with. Footsteps often accompany an offered hand, or maybe just the action of being swept into a hug/teasing, or another earthquake as the giant sits/kneels to offer companionship. The arrival of a best friend who happened to be a bit bigger.
But on the other hand, they're ominous, signifying a living building making its presence known. Having the ground shake beneath your feet without any obvious effort being made to, a shadow draping itself over you that seems to blanket everything in darkness. It would be really scary if you'd never encountered a giant before, to realise what you thought was just some far off tremor was actually a living being standing tall above you. Out of your sight and able to do whatever they want to you."
