"And you say I'm-?"

"Edgy. Really edgy. I mean, look at your hair." Anton leant down to toy with the giant's fringe, pulling the stray locks of dark hair off his forehead. Large brown eyes were focused on his every movement, and the face beneath him was still as could be, giving him the courage to taunt Seto without fear.

"Black. Long. It makes you look like a...like a.."

"Like something I haven't taught you about yet."

The human was knocked off his feet by a well-timed shake of the giant head he stood on, falling backward into Seto's long locks and getting tangled in no time, all to the sound of the giant's booming laughter. A hand capable of containing Anton's whole form was quick to save him, though, grabbing the human in its fingers and prying him out to set atop the pages of a faded journal.

The wind howled against their shared home, cold creeping in under the floorboards and whisking against Seto's exposed ankles and Anton's skinny arms. Seto Yamazaki and Anton Miller had lived for many months in the centre of this desert, hiding from the turbulent world of giants and humans that couldn't live together without the former killing the latter. And still, the nights attacked them with their icy chill.

"Continue. Before the night isn't so young, and you'll be in bed trying to keep out the cold." Were Seto's only words in response, Anton getting an amused glance from the giant before he plopped himself down on the spine of the book, running fingers over the worn edge of the page.

"You write depressing journals, dress in cloaks, do experiments, that practically spells out edgy." Anton spread his arms wide, legs bouncing against the page as he tried to gain his big friend's attention, to draw his still and focused eyes from the page onto him. He attempted to grab the steadily moving metal pen tip in his smaller hands as part of this quest, but missed every time, and then tumbled head-over-heels into the pooling fabric of Seto's shirt when he dove for it. That caught his attention, and Anton looked up with a heavy blush to see the giant looming over him, biting his lip in embarrassment. It was still intimidating having a person tower over him in this way, especially when he could feel the weight of a stare from what could only be described as a living building.

"What are you doing?" Anton didn't want to tell his protector that he had fallen, so he got to his feet to nuzzle against the curved stomach of the giant, still blushing over his nose and biting his lip. Unlike he'd hoped, large fingers pinched the back of his shirt to yank him back into the limelight, Seto's brows drawn together in a concerned frown. He'd already been lectured on not jumping from things because he was just a human and could easily get hurt, so why did the stubborn boy continue to?

"I'm waiting."

"You're...you're warm, Seto, you can't deny it. I was just...having fun, it's a...a human thing. Everyone jumps off stuff back home." This made the sorcerer squint, analysing Anton's small features, before allowing himself to relax and rest back in his trusty armchair. But just when the human thought he was free to do it again, a hand pinned him down.

"Right. I'll note it down, but no more for today. Feel free to snuggle in I think I've got some dried fruit left in the packet if you want it. I'll read you your entry for today, and then, you can request a story." At this, Anton wrapped his arms around one of the closest fingers and cuddled it to his chest, looking past black curls to the amused eyes high above him. The giant slowly got used to the affection he was shown by the human,  but when such a small and rare being made such minuscule actions around him, it made his heart skip a beat.

"Go on." He whispered. "Read my edgy entry."

Today, Anton was calm with me; he was quite happy and energetic, and ready to play. We had a match of Hide-and-Seek to burn some energy, and, as expected, Anton won both games.

"'Cause I'm the champion."

Anton shows rather developed stamina, hand-eye coordination, and muscular skill, especially for a human of his size. I wonder if all humans possess these talents. He climbs and squeezes into hiding places with ease, as well as being comfortable with clambering up my side at any possible time. But still, he's very fun to hold and to chat to while he is on my shoulder.

Today's quote: "You're like a big tree, Seto and not a difficult one to climb either."

"Aww, I remember saying that. You're also like a big teddy bear too, a real softie on the inside." Seto smiled and a finger separated from the rest to affectionately stroke Anton's hair, the human purring happily and melting deep into the warm body of the sorcerer. At times like these Anton felt true awe, he couldn't believe that he was in the clutches of a giant and not running for cover or pleading for his life. He was cocooned in abnormally large fingers and enjoying his time there. Seto really was a miracle, and he was eternally grateful for the giant for taking him in instead of hurting him.

Anton only yawned, and without a word, the large book was snapped closed and the lamps in the kitchen and front room were blown out. Seto rolled up the pack of fruit and set it aside, both hands coming beneath his human as he stood and walked out to his bedroom. Once inside the cosy space, Anton was set down, and both giant and human went their separate ways to change in their own spaces. They got into cosy pyjamas and hoodies to block out the desert cold before Seto jumped into his bed and Anton into his small storage box on the giant's bedside table.

"Now, storytime," Seto whispered, pulling his thin blanket with him to the edge of his bed and propping himself up with pillows, a soft look travelling over the human who watched him in excitement. The story was one of the best parts of Anton's day with Seto, where he heard tales of the world, above and beyond his furthest imaginations, worlds where humans like him didn't have to fear giants or Hunters. Where he could be pulled from the cruel world and spun a tale of wonder, clear skies, and green grass.

All by a giant, one that had sworn to protect him.

"Tell me about...gems and crystals deep underground."

Anton usually requested stories of this nature, about things he'd only read about in the dusty books that lined Seto's shelves, or the pictures and notes he'd seen on the giant's holographic screens. Usually, it involved their planet, the world, space and the planets, sometimes even about animals, and once, he even requested a lesson on giants.

"Well, gems are formed from minerals pressed together over thousands of years. This planet has a layer called the mantle, filled with hot melted rocks and minerals called magma, and once this finds a place to grow, it settles. Over time, with heat and pressure, the ingredients form crystals, which come in many different shapes and colours. Diamonds are clear, topaz is yellow, emerald is green. You can polish them and make them pretty and put them into jewellery."

Anton gasped at the idea, real gemstones like his mother had adored when she found them lost on the streets, coming from deep within the ground he stood upon. Looking to Seto through the dark, he nestled further into his makeshift pillow and closed his eyes, trying to imagine spikes of glass growing out in a rainbow of colours.

"My mother liked crystals. Sometimes she'd find them in discarded bracelets and necklaces, and bring them home to show me." The human said, his voice quiet but instilled with emotion that made Seto frown and turn over in his bed, pondering the thought of taking a trip with Anton to find him a crystal.

"Your birthday is coming up soon, Ant. I'll find you a crystal."

"That would be...nice of you Seto. But, you don't have to do something like that for a human like me." He yawned wide and closed his eyes. "Goodnight." Anton waved to the large lying form, before pulling the blanket over his shoulder and hugging his pillow tight.

"Sleep well." Came the rumbling reply, a voice once so confronting and fear-inducing, now giving the human the edge over his waking mind and sending him out like a light.

That was a bit of a weird prompt, but I got there in the end and made a good story. It could possibly be off topic but it's fluffy so I love it.

Dedicated to my boi @moodygirlz who is the owner of Anton Miller, long-time RP partner, and fellow fluffy G/T writer. Go check out her stuff! I hope you enjoyed our adorable boys hanging out together, and I hope to feature Seto himself more in the 100 Prompt Challenge.

Stay fluffy!
