Song - Fast Slow Disco - St Vincent
Recap:
"Shhh, they don't know that." The two men walked over to Elyssa, who had her arms folded and was listening to Desdemona converse with the two beggars on the ground. All three of the ragtag bunch from the floor eventually got up, and they made quite a sight. Desdemona with her paint covered slacks, and the two beggars who literally and figuratively wore rags covered in dirt – whatever the colour that it had been was no longer recognisable.
"This is Wisteria and Kai Chen. Chen triplets, this is Hector, Bobby and Elyssa. Guys, they think that their brother is missing."
Chapter Eleven: Wooden Draws and Fatal Flaws
Somewhere nearby, in a street filled with shops, in the window of a shop that sold televisions and computers, every television broadcasted a live run of the same news story that had crowds of shocked pedestrians crowded around the display. It was the same news story that had been being broadcasted in Maria's Blanc Café or MBC as Noah liked to call it but it was being broadcasted by the council's own news station – The Magdalena Black True News Morning hosted by Marge and Magnolia Black, the last known surviving members of the Black family. The news anchor was a woman with big blue eyes and waves upon waves of long black hair. She had the glowing aura of a vampire, with her sultry gaze that had the crowd hooked on her every word. She straightened her papers, as she dove into the story that she had lightly touched on earlier.
"In the early hours of the morning police were notified that Councilman Fisher - who looks at financing and the funding that goes into trade union events for the council - was kidnapped from his hotel. According to the leaked CCTV footage, we have come to understand that he was kidnapped under 'mysterious circumstances' at around five o'clock pm in the afternoon of yesterday, so that's yesterday the twelfth of September 2064." Marge Black leant back in her seat and clasped her hands together tightly. She tilted her head, and the camera faded to another room where Magnolia Black stood with a microphone pointed at a young man who was dressed like a hotel porter, in a uniform of all green with one deep yellow stripe down his jacket.
"And did you see anything out of the ordinary that might have contributed to the mysterious circumstances that led to the disappearance of legendary Councilman Fisher?" Magnolia's hair was held tightly by pins and gave her a professional aura, she wore a suit with a pale pink blouse and had little to no makeup on, yet because of her vampirism she just looked so perfect, not a hair out of place. The porter seemed enthralled by her that he nearly asked her to repeat the question.
"What- oh yeah, uh, so there was this guy a few days ago that rang us up and asked for a room on the same floor as the councilman, but he never actually checked in. I remember it cos, like my boss man, like, he uh, he uh had to deal with the phone call and all the staff were, um giggling about it in the yeah-" The porter's face seemed to turn red from embarrassment and the crowd smiled at the television screens as they related to the way the porter was acting under Magnolia's stiff but charming gaze.
"Well that's what we've heard from the first man at the scene; the only thing out of ordinary is that the suspect asked for a room on the same floor as the councilman, so he could possibly scout out the area in preparation for his attack. We require the people of this fair city to watch out for themselves over the next few weeks until this investigation is completely finished. Over to you, my dear sister, Margie." The image of Magnolia and the porter shimmered as the camera's view returned to Marge in her office. She smiled widely at the audience that she had grown. Many viewers had tuned into the council's channel as soon as the programme started. People began to put posts about the news story of the day on Twitter, and soon the tweets with the most hashtags were being shared on other forums, all over the internet.
