Recap

"You said you were looking for a sweet melody, the one who walked with the king at night, but now you're in need of Selene, instead of your lover, sweet Amphitrite."

"So my son is looking for Amy? I assume you don't know why. But you know where Elyssa is?"

"The meadows have clovers deep in their beds, the roses have thorns that prick in your skin, Selene is in the next room, but one move and she's dead, a stake through the heart, and something missing within." Gunner froze, he wasn't sure what was meant by something missing, but by the words next room and 'one move and she's dead', he knew he had to send Desdemona and the others whilst he got rid of this destroyer of worlds.

Chapter Five: Elyssa Quincy

Desdemona looked to Knox immediately, realising that this was familiar, or at least the start of the words. It sounded like the start of a prophecy. A prophecy she had heard somewhere before, she wondered if her parents knew it, or if it was something that the council members had discussed before. Knox held a notebook in his hand as he scrawled down the rest of what Leviathan had said. He planned to go through it later, and figure it out. It seemed like Gunner already deciphered half of it, from the look of his pale face.

Bob tapped Hector's shoulder and led him back through the doorway, as the others began to gather themselves. It wasn't a time to talk over what had been said, but to find Selene before a move was made, and she ended up dead. Bob knew that this would be the start of a war if Hector Quincy's sister was found dead. The council would fall apart, as two sides were taken, as someone would look for someone else to blame. So, Bob's number one priority was Hector. As he dragged Hector away, Hector turned his head, locking eyes with Knox, who watched them go with genuine curiosity and pity.

Hector stopped like a dead weight in Bob's grasp before suddenly jerking his arm out, and shoving Bob to the side like a fat flailing bowling pin. Bob's body hit the wall with a smack, and he was winded, spluttering and spitting out drool which pooled on his hand as he wiped his mouth, catching his breath. His boss donned a crazed look as he pointed at Knox. The tall figure notating the prophetic words dropped his notepad in shock. He wasn't the only one that jumped at the sudden movement, that sudden movement which had brought Gunner back to the present, with his pale face and his uncertainty. The young wizard lunged in an awkward crouch to pick up the notepad that Knox had dropped, as Knox stepped towards Hector.

"You. You must have caused this when you left me and the rest of the clan to pursue knitting and that café you wanted to open. One of our past clients must be getting at me because of you, why did you go pursue knitting? What vampire even does that to people that he cared about? My sister is probably really hurt because of you!! How could you? Do that to me!" Hector dropped to his knees, sobbing. Des ignored the mess that happened in front of her, knowing all too well that this was a private matter to only be solved by the two men involved in it, even if one of them clearly didn't want it to happen.

"I didn't cause this. And I didn't go out to pursue knitting, or to open a café. I opened a café because I got out of this backstabbing fake family. Why would I want to stay, when the people I love don't want to let themselves understand? I'm a vampire. I'm a rogue. I'm selfish. I do what I want when I want because I want." With every sullen word, Knox stepped closer to the other vampire who hurled insult after insult at him, hoping with pain-fuelled rage that one of the insults would stick.

"You home-destroyer! You bloodsucker! You bast-"

Hurriedly, Des reached Bob who lay there on the cold dusty ground, growing fairly comfortable in that he couldn't get back up to his feet and he was still struggling to breathe. Something good about being pushed into a wall by a vampire, was that even if it did hurt or burst an organ, then he'd still be okay, for the healing magic of being a vampire himself. Placing a hand under Hector's chin, Knox reached down and pressed his lips to his. There eyelids closed, as if they were in their own bubble of emotion, and no one else could quite understand it. In the midst of everything that had happened and was going to happen, two vampires made-out.
