A change of scenery can help calm you down, help with stress or relax you, but when you're meeting up with a murder at a park so he can see your daughter, it's not very relaxing. Being in a public place helps with my nerves a little more , even though I don't know what he would do even if we are in public. Sydney was sliding down the slide with another little girl when I spotted Harry's wild curls heading my way. He didn't stop to say anything to Sydney, who was to busy playing to even notice his walk right by her. He sat down on the wooden bench and tucked his hands into his pockets as he leaned back. We stayed quiet, watching Sydney play with some other kids.

Sydney's eyes soon glanced over to us, her face lighting up in a bright smile when she saw Harry. I don't know why she likes him so much, he's not that friendly. This is only the third time she had seen him, the last time was at the grocery store and we only spoke for a few minutes which was to plan on meeting up at the park on Friday.

"Harry!" Sydney smiled as she ran over to us.

"Hey kid, how's it going?" Harry smiled at her as she climbed onto the empty space between Harry and I.

"Did you come to play?"

"Nah, just to watch. You go play" Harry told her.

Her brown curls fell in her face as she quickly turned her head to face me. Her cheeks were pink and so was her nose, and her lips were slightly chapped from the cold air. "Can we get some hot chocolate after?"

"No, I think we'll just go home after." I told her.

"Please-"

"Go play, Syd" I said and she rolls her eyes as she heads back over to the playground.

"Hot chocolate sounds great-"

"You're lucky I'm even letting you see her right now. Don't push it, Harry." I huffed.

He stares at me, not saying a word.

"What?" I barked.

"Say my name again"

"No," I roll my eyes "gosh, you're so fucking annoying."

"Ouch. I'm hurt" he places a hand over his heart and pretends to be wounded, but smiles seconds later. "Lighten up a bit. You're so stuck up its ridiculous."

"I'm not stuck up, I just don't see why you need to see her all the time."

"I've seen her three times and I'll see her as much as I want because she's my kid."

"You didn't even care before now. I bet you don't even know her middle name!" I shout at him. His eyes flick over to Sydney then back to me.

"Beth."

"Why-"

"Because that was your grandmothers name." He answers me before I can even ask the question.

I didn't think he would have known that. I only told him once, right after I found out I was having a girl and Harry didn't seem to care because he didn't even bother helping me pick a name. He just shrugged and said "name the kid whatever you want." And so I did.

I didn't say anything back to him, because I simply had nothing to say. The smug grin on his face was clear and he knew he was right. He knew I didn't expect him to know so him being right made him happy.

"I should get going. Have some things to do" Harry says as he stands from the bench. "I'll come over tonight. Joey will be out?"

"No" I lie.

"I'll see you tonight, Charlotte" he smirks before turning on his heel and leaving.

I decided to just give up. Let Harry get what he wants and maybe, just maybe he will get bored and leave. Harry wasn't the kind of person to stick around, at least the new Harry was like that. I figured out his real personality soon after Sydney was born. I hated the fact that I gave my virginity to him but I wouldn't take it back because I got Sydney out of it, and even if she had half of Harry in her she was still mine.

After taking Sydney home I made us all dinner and then a small batch of cupcakes which Sydney beautifully decorated with red icing and blue sprinkles. Joey was quiet for the most part until he announced that he was going out with Missy and wouldn't be home until tomorrow evening. He bid us both goodbye before kissing Sydney on her forehead and leaving. A breath I didn't know I was holding in finally released when I saw Joey's car pull out of the parking lot a few stories below.

Like magic, three knocks could be heard before Harry's brown boots trudged into my apartment, trailing mud behind them. His curly hair was flattened down but the pouring rain outside and his coat had collected water droplets. "Hey"

"Hi" I smiled uncontrollably when he flicked his hair to the side of his face.

"Can I have a towel....or something?"

"Oh yeah, um," I jogged to the hall closet and grabbed a towel. "Here."

"Thanks Charlie" he said monotone before rubbing the towel over his head a few times.

"Erm, where's Sydney?"

"Oh, right." I rolled my eyes at myself. "Syd!"

Seconds later Sydney runs out of the hallways and runs right past me, straight to Harry. Her arms wrap around his thighs and she wraps her legs around his ankles. "Harry you came back!"

"Of course I did" he said to Sydney, but smiled at me sweetly when he said it.

"I made you this brac- oh mommy where did you put it?" Sydney says as she stands next to Harry. He's small hand reaches for Harry's and grabs it. You can see Harry physically tense but he soon relaxes.

"It's in your pocket." I reminded her. She reached into her pocket and pulls out a string that had four different colored beads on it.

"I made this for you. Since you gave me teddy I wanted to give you something." Sydney told Harry as she wrapped the bracelet around Harry's wrist. She smiled at him as he pulled his hand closer to his face so he could see the bracelet better.

"Do you like it?" She asked when she realized he wasn't going to say anything.

He looked up to me then back to Sydney. "Um, I have to go."

"What? Why?"

"I have sh- stuff to do. Bye." He rushed before literally running out the door.
