Prologue.
It was the middle of third period. I was sitting in the principal’s office with the devil, aka Austin Desmyn. We were both soaking wet because we were both shoved into the lab shower. Mr. Jorge was furious and sent us to the office.
“This is your fault.” I said to the devil who was seated in the chair beside me. He was playing 2048 on his phone.
“How so?” he questioned, looking up from his phone. He had a bored expression on his face which mad me angrier.
“You’re the one who mixed in the wrong chemicals which caused the substance explode on us!” I said exasperatedly.
“I wouldn’t have mixed in the wrong chemicals if you would’ve just shut up for one minute.” He countered back.
“Well I would’ve shut up if you-“
My words were cut off when Mr.Rawry entered the office. He walked over to his desk and sat in his seat. He was wearing black dress pants and a salmon coloured polo. His umber hair was groomed neatly. His grey eyes held no emotion; probably because he’s so used to seeing Austin and I in his office at least thrice a week.
“Ms. Winter and Mr.Desmyn,” he started. “It isn’t surprising to see you two in my office, again. I would make you both explain your side of the story but we all know that never works with the both of you.”
“So what are you going to do?” Austin asked. “Detention? Suspension? Fail us?”
Mr.Rawry shook his head. “Both of you take vocal music, am I correct?”
We both nodded our heads.
“Well Mr. Elliot and I have arranged that you two will be partnered for the semester project.”
“What?!” I shot up out of my seat. “Mr.Rawry you have got to be kidding. This has to be some kind of sick joke!”
He narrowed his eyes at my sudden outburst. “Watch your tone Katrina. You both are so close to a phone call home and a two day suspension. Do you realize that both your actions during your lab day are serious? We’re lucky that no one else in your class was affected by your chemical reaction.”
I turned my head to Austin and glared at him. “This is your fault!”
He scoffed. “You already said that. And like I said this wouldn’t have happened if you’d shut up.”
“Well if you were flirting with Stacey in the middle of our lab then I would’ve shut up!”
“You’re just jealous that I’m not flirting with you.” He smirked. At this point I was boiling with anger. I wanted to punch his attractive face!
Wait did I just say attractive? Ugh
“ENOUGH!” Mr.Rawry yelled before I could argue back. We both shut our mouths and faced our angry principal. He let out an exasperated breath and rubbed his temples.
“What is our semester project anyways?” Austin asked.
“The duet.”
Is Mr.Elliot out of his mind suggested this? Or is Mr.Rawry insane for agreeing with him? Maybe both. How can these two teacher’s possible believe that we are able to sing a duet? We can’t even be in the same room without wanting to rip each other’s heads off. This is impossible.
“But-“ Austin and I said simultaneously
“No buts.” Mr. Rawry said sternly “Mr. Elliot and I believe this project will give you guys more time to bond and get to know each other better.”
I rolled my eyes. Austin and I have had enough bonding time here at the office. We do not need to interact with each other outside of school. I was about to protest on this idea but the principal opened the door to his office.
“You two are dismissed. Good luck on your project.” He gave us a warm smile, waiting for us to leave. Austin mumbled something under his breath as he made his way out of the office. I kept my mouth shut and made my way to my period four class.
Advanced Functions went by slower than usual after hearing the news about Austin and me.
A/N: I know I am not the best writer so please no rude comments because I'm trying my best lol :$
Hopefully I'll be able to post a new chapter soon and get this story moving. I know it's slow right now but it will start moving along more smooth. Please bear with me okay?
