My legs felt like lead, but I couldn't stop. I couldn't stop until I found where she was, even if it killed me. It was 7:30 at night, yet I still was wearing my sunglasses incase anybody I knew saw me. I still had to hold up my bad boy rep, and there is no way that'd hold if they saw me a blubbering crying mess I was now.

I pushed through the crowd of creatures, trying to find one I could ask directions from. I was searching for the Nightmare's mansion, knowing that's where it took her.

Took her... Those words made me cringe. I let them take the girl I desperately needed around me, I let them take away my happiness when I was sad, I let them take my everything.

It was all my fault in the first place for leaving her in the realm, or the Nightmare wouldn't have taken a liking to her when she got knocked over.

Then I didn't come out of the room when she called for me, but only when I heard her pain filled screams echoing through the walls. Those screams were still haunting me, the last human encounter I had with her.

Her blood still caked my hands, and hopefully I wasn't too much of a creep tonight, I still needed directions.

Awful thoughts found their way into my mind. Thoughts of her dead, lying in the Nightmare's mansion all alone, cut up into bits and bleeding all over its floor as it screamed in laughter. Thoughts that made me feel as if I were drowning, thoughts that made me feel as if I was stuck in quicksand and suffocating.

The second I recollected my bearings in the flat, I threw on a jacket and went into the realm, no other things crossing my mind besides finding and saving Tris.

Her name stung my mouth and heart, knowing she probably hated me now, and I couldn't do much to change that. My entire body ached thinking about her feelings towards me now. Everything was painful about her. I just wanted to find her; I needed to find her.

I saw a ghost ahead on the shoulder of the road, so I ran through the crowd, dodging the usually anger creatures to reach the ghost.

This ghost sat waiting for the light to change and had a briefcase and suit on, so I figured he worked in the realm, unlike the ones like me who work the human world.

I jogged up beside him as the crosswalk went off and the crowd began crossing, and he wasn't going to stop. So I just walked beside him.

"Excuse me, could you direct me to the Nightmare neighborhood?"

"There's is only one Nightmare neighborhood, and it's off of Tribly and Sacrion, the east end." he said pointing in a general direction, which I knew was all the way across the city.

I thanked him and ran through the crowds once more. I knew where she was now, I just hoped it wasn't too late. A spark of hope flickered in me, but I knew I couldn't get my hopes up, incase something were to let me down.

I couldn't go any faster, knowing finally where I was going. I saw I was a couple blocks away, and I noticed an alleyway that seemed to cut right through the middle. I flicked up my sunglasses so I could see better, the alleyway consuming me in darkness. My knees felt wobbly, and heart beat quickened, but I pressed on through the dark.

I froze in place when I heard rustling in the dark on the edges of the walkway. I looked in the dark, squinting to try and see better, but seeing nothing. That is until, the thing rustling stood along with four other creatures. From their stance, I could tell they were Sun-Eaters, and I should have known better going into a black alleyway.

They stand so hunch-back that it's easy to tell what they are, although by the time you've decided what they are, you should be running, because they live off of sun rays and anything they can lay their mouthed on. Based on my knowledge, I was out and going the opposite direction as I heard the stomps and clamor behind me.

I took a swift right turn into another alley, and kept running, stumbling over a box, but regaining my balance.

The sounds of them chasing me were getting louder, and I skidded to a jog when I reached the end of the alley, blocked off with a wire fence. I shook my head and looked back, seeing how close they were, and then deciding then what to do.

I kept up my pace and jumped when I reached he fence, latching myself onto it. I climbed for a second and a half before I felt the push of the Sun-Eaters crashing into the fence, trying to knock me down.

I held tight, enough to where I knuckles were bright white and I could feel the metal cutting my skin. Nevertheless, I held on and climbed as right as possible, until I reached the top and pulled myself over. I climbed down a few steps before pushing off and falling to the ground. I rolled once, and back pedaled away from the disaster I just avoided, except I had no idea where I was now.

I sprinted the rest of the alley, reaching the dark, yet still light enough to see thanks to the street lights. I bursts into the light, and just as I did, I was pushed to the ground, along with the thing that pushed me.

At first I was upset, but I heard the groan, I realized they had run into me, for they were running too. I rolled on to my knees and looked at the figure laying right beside me, groaning every second.

The long brown hair and grey sleep shirt and pink pajama shorts with little bananas was a dead giveaway. Except the fact all of those things were bright red blood-stained, made me freeze for a second and take in my luck.

I snapped back into reality and her name found my lips, and they tasted great.

"Tristan." I spoke quietly, before picking her up as she curled into a ball on the concrete and laid her inn my lap. I pulled out my phone, knowing exactly who to call.

She squirmed a little, but I could tell the intense pain she was induced in at the moment. I rubbed her upper arm as I placed the ringing phone to my ear.

"Niall." she whispered back, finally realizing as I smirked back down at her. Tears flooded my face and I realized I had lost my sunglasses in the Sun-Eater chase.

My entire world froze as I sat on the ground holding her, and I took in all the things that happened to her because of me. She could never forgive me, and I knew that.

"Niall?" the voice on the other end questioned, pulling me back into reality.

"Zayn." I said, relief lacing my worn voice. Finally, I could rest.

"Niall, what's up?" he asked busily, I know he was leaving work soon, but he couldn't, not yet.

"Don't leave work yet. I have someone for you, and I... I just can't trust her with any other. Please." I begged, realizing I would have to tell him she was mortal, or he'd find out in his own.

"Of course, mate. I will be waiting when you get here." he said hanging up the phone.

I've never really been glad my best mate became a doctor until now, because I would have no idea what I do if he wasn't.
