-Bora's P.O.V-

Lisa and I were walking back to our cells from breakfast when a guard approached me.

"Mutant 444, you're requested in the Doctor's laboratory immediately." He states and holds his hand on my back to guide me towards the lab. I turn my head to look at Lisa and eye her worriedly. She looks back at me with the same expression.

The guard opens the lab door for me and I walk in hesitantly. I look around and see Dr.Park sitting at her desk. She appears to be looking through files. As she notices my presence, she lowers her reading glasses and sets the file down to smile at me.

"Ah! Kim Bora, just what the doctor ordered." She laughs at her own joke. I smile weakly and sit down in front of her desk.

"What's this about? There's nothing wrong is there?" I ask timidly.

Dr.Park shakes her head. "The opposite of wrong, actually. I've called you here to discuss your blood test results."

I nod and gulp, still nervous as Dr.Park opens up a locked drawer and brings up my file. She glances at it briefly and turns her attention back to me.

"Have you ever heard of anyone else that has the same power as you, Bora?" She asks suddenly. I shake my head. I've researched my power, and from what I can remember from the site I read, it said that there hasn't been a mutant with powers like mine for a long time.

"No, not that I know of."

"Have you ever wondered why? Why there's no one like you?"

"It's crossed my mind once or twice, sure. But I never really dwelled on it enough to understand why." I say shakily.

"Well as you know, your ability is to control the element neon. But see, neon itself is a noble gas. But when put inside an electrical field, that's what gives it it's glow. This means that your power also has electrical properties." The doctor explained. I nodded as she spoke, pretending to understand the scientific words she was using when I really had no clue what she was on about.

"From viewing your birth certificate, it appears that both of your parents weren't mutant. Do you know of anyone else in your family that could've been mutant?" She asked me. I thought back to my family tree, but as far as I knew, everyone else was normal.

"Not that I know of, I'm sorry." I sigh.

The Doctor's eyes light up. "No need to be. Matter of fact, this new piece of information I'm about to tell you will make you rethink everything you knew about yourself. See Bora, just by examining your blood and DNA, we were able to track an ancestor of yours. You had a great, great grand father who was a mutant. And his powers we electrical. So it passed down to you."

I widened my eyes at this new information. I was never told about this man. Did my parents fail to tell this to me intentionally? Or did they just forget to bring it up?

"I- Wait what? That doesn't make any sense. Why wasn't it passed to other family members that came before me?"

"Oh, sometimes the mutant genes just skip some family members. But it passed to you, lucky you." Dr.Park winks.

"Lucky isn't quite the word I would use, but I guess I'll take that as a compliment." I chuckled sheepishly.

"I can see why you wouldn't think of your situation to be so lucky, ending up in a place like this. But believe me, if you do well in your training then I bet you'll be out of here in no time to put your powers and rarity to good use for society. I trust you'll do what's right, Bora. Oh! And speaking of training, you best get going because it starts soon!" The Doctor made an "O" shape with her mouth when she realised the time.

I got up from my chair and bowed in her direction before making a bee-line for the door. Before I twisted the knob to leave, she called me back again.

"Oh, and Bora." She called.

"Yes?"

"I'd like to keep this little session of ours confidential, so be careful who you tell your new found information to."

"Yes, Dr.Park." I nodded and shut the door behind me.
