Chapter 4: Tae's Backstory.

We just arrived in our new town. People were getting suspicious of Bora in the last town so we thought it was best to just move again.

It's hard moving about all the time, but it's also a good chance to find more people like Bora and I. Yes, I too am a mutant, but I haven't dared to breathe a word about it to anyone. Not even my sister.

I've found a couple of guys that are mutants like me. I met a guy called Namjoon and he introduced me to the other mutants he's come across. They all seemed like nice guys, and we trusted each other.

It's hard for mutants to get jobs, so it was hard for us to get money. But then gangs turned to us and asked us to do some of their dirty work. Like drive the cops away from the dealings and defend the gang if dealings go sideways.

*After A Deal*

"Man, that was too fucking close." Jungkook said panting, we had just gotten away from the police. The dealing ended up getting heated and there were a lot of cops. Even the M.C.C got involved.

"That was more than close! No fucking way are we doing that again. I'm sorry but this shit is getting too dangerous. We almost got captured just there.." Jin sighed.

"I'll say it to the gang's leader. We're out man we're not doing his dirty work anymore." Namjoon concluded.

Namjoon approached the man whom they've been doing work for for the past while. After last nights job, Namjoon and the boys had decided to drop out for their own safety.

"Listen, I don't think the boys and I can keep doing this. We almost got caught last night and the M.C.C showed up. Do you know what happens to people like me in there?!" Namjoon said assertively.

"You can drop out when I say you can." The leader hissed.

"One job. One more fucking job and we're done." Namjoon insisted.

The leader rolled his eyes.

"You drop out, and I report you all to the M.C.C. Are we clear?". And he walked away, leaving Namjoon with no other choice.

Namjoon walked up to the boys with his head low.

"Well, what did he say?" Jimin anticipated.

"The prick says if we drop out, he'll report us to the M.C.C." Namjoon spat in annoyance.

"Fuck him. We'll just hide away won't we? I mean my sister and I are always on the move, so they won't be able to find us right?" I suggested.

"Yeah, why don't we just make a break for it? We have powers man nothing they have can compare to what we're capable of." Hoseok agreed.

"We could just waste them, get them off our back for good.." Yoongi also suggested while fiddling with a lighter.

"I told him we'd do one more job. After that, we split and leave this town." Namjoon said. It was a plan.

We all stood on the rooftops, looking down at the deal and keeping an eye out for the cops. Everything was quiet, which was unusual. But the silence didn't last long. Shouting and roaring erupted from the alley below. There must've been a disagreement of some sort.

The gang from the other side of town drew their gun and a gunshot was fired.

"Guess we gotta intervene." Jin sighed. He was growing tired of this, just like the rest of us were.

We jumped down from the roof and landed in the alley to be met with a shoot-out.
Jimin put a force field around the leader to protect him while Jungkook controlled the metal bullets that the other gang were firing. Yoongi set fire to their truck and destroyed the drugs.

While all this was going down, no one was watching out for the police until it was too late. We heard the sirens approaching but there wasn't time to flee. The M.C.C rolled up and the alley was surrounded. Soldiers flooded the alley and people were being seized.

Hoseok found an opening. I read his mind and saw what he was thinking about. I communicated with him in his thoughts.

"Hobi we can't leave the rest." I said.

"Tae, I'm sorry but I'm not getting caught."

He looked at Namjoon and Jin and nodded towards the opening. Yoongi, Jimin and Jungkook were being pinned down. Then Yoongi saw what the rest were doing. His eyes were glowing with anger as he saw that he was being betrayed.

"We'll get you out Yoongi. We'll come back don't worry." I said in his thoughts.

He just stared at me blankly. The stare was unforgiving.

"V! COME ON LETS GO!" Jin yelled and we all sprinted to freedom.

I ran because I didn't have much of a choice but I looked back and saw my three friends being shoved into the back of a van. Yoongi still had his eyes locked on me. Jimin and Jungkook sat with their head in their hands.

Namjoon, Hoseok, Jin and I lost the cops and the M.C.C and hid back at my house. They never saw my sister and I talked about my friends a lot to her so she wanted to meet them.

It was the middle of the night so we had to climb through my window. Namjoon is hella clumsy so he fell through my window and made a lot of noise which resulted in waking Bora up.

Bora stumbled into my room half asleep and rubbed her eyes.

"Tae, what's with all the noise? Sounds like a herd of elephants in here." She yawned.

"It's okay Bora, just go back to your room." I said trying to distract her.

"Is this your sister?" Jin said, catching her attention. I glared at him and told him to shut the fuck up in his head. But Bora heard him anyway.

"Tae! You didn't tell me your friends were coming to stay over!" She exclaimed and rushed over to my bed to meet them. They all smiled at her. I rolled my eyes and introduced them all.

The sun was starting to come up and Bora was still chatting to my friends while I was falling half asleep.

I looked at her and stretched.

"Bora, mom and dad will be up soon. You should head back to bed before they hear you."
She pouted but saw I was getting cranky because I didn't sleep much so she sauntered back into her room.

"Your sister is really cool." Hobi said smiling.

"Does she know about you?" Namjoon questioned.

"No."

"You should probably tell her Tae." Jin advised.

"It's safer if I don't. That way she won't have to worry about me and my parents can focus on keeping her safe." I explained.

The room fell silent. I knew what the guys were thinking about. They were all thinking about Yoongi, Jungkook and Jimin.

"Don't you guys feel the slightest bit guilty for leaving them back there. We coulda stopped them from being taken.." I said quietly.

"We would've gotten captured too V." J-Hope replied.

"Yoongi just stared at me. It was scarier than all the other times he stared like that. His eyes were drowning in sorrow. He won't forgive us easily." I sighed.

"That's if he forgives us at all. I do feel guilty and I should've known better than to leave them behind. But if there's one thing to know about Suga, it's that you never cross him.." Namjoon said as he gazed at the wall.

"I hope Jungkook and Jimin will be okay too." Jin said as his voice cracked. He was afraid for them.

"They're strong Hyung. They'll be okay. We'll get them all out." I said reassuring him.
I was afraid for them all. They were my friends. We'll find a way to get them out...
