"The shell of a man who could never be his best." I was singing to 'Drag me down' by One direction while dancing and making pancakes.
From time to times I like to wake up early and cook for mom and dad, and I have a great chance now when my high school is closed. They are doing some renovations that supposedly couldn't wait until summer break.
The days are boring and we did get homework but I finished that the first rainy day, just a few days ago.
"Oh, morning, darling you making pancakes again?" My mother walked down the white clean stairs across the birch floor.
Her hair was almost as black as mine but I definitely got the length from her, my father had blonde hair and green eyes and I definitely got those eyes.
"Yup and they are almost done!" I said popping the p. Even though I was very mature I loved making jokes and just being funny, I was bad at it though.
"Thank you, you are so much help." My mother said with a grateful look. "You know how hard it is with Simon."
Simon was my 8 month year old brother, he would get sick a lot. My mother got me when she was 15 so she's only 31 years old. My father is 34, he had just finished High school so he could take care of me a little easier, they finished school and studied at a university, my grandma took care of me when they were at school.
She passed away two years ago, my grandpa did too last year. My father lost his parents when he was 10. I still have an aunt though, she is around 50, lives in the USA I think. We sat down at the kitchen table, my mother put Simon in his bright pink baby chair. My old one.
We stated eating, my brother had his baby food. My dad always told me that my pancakes were amazing but he is my dad. My mom suddenly got quiet. She stood up. Holding her head with one head.
"Lily?" My dad said, worried. My mother fell to the ground. "Lily!".
Dad rushed to mother, he held her in his arms.
"Dad?" I said, mom's body was turning into some kind of dust. "What's going on?"
"I don't know." Mom was gone, after just a few seconds. "Dice?"
Dad to was turning into that same dust. He looked like he was in pain.
"Listen to me Dice, I don't know what is happening but I know you have to go to Queens in New York." He took my hand, he was almost gone. "My sister, May Parker lives there."
"But dad?" I cried.
"Bring Simon, ask a neighbor for help, be the worlds bravest sister." He paused for a second, catching his breath. "I know you can do it. I love you."
He was gone and I was left there alone, in tears. This was supposed to be an amazing Saturday.
I sat a the floor and cried for a while almost screaming, I didn't know for how long but suddenly Simon started too. I guess that is the thing with babies, when someone cries, they feel the need to do that too. I ran to him, panicking, what if he was becoming dust to? I picked him up singing the first lullaby I could come up with, 'St. Judy's Comet'. I examined him the best I could, he was normal, he seemed fine.
"Thank god, Simon." I sniffled. A tear rolled down my cheek but I dried it away. "Guess what, we are going to Queens."
