I slowly opened my eyes, I wasn't dead. Didn't he shoot?

All I saw was a small multicolored stone with the gun next to it. I picked the stone up, it was warm, just like a human's body. I covered my mouth, trying not to scream as I realized what happened. That light, it probably turned the man into the stone. Considering what had happened the past day, that could much possibly happen.

"Simon!" I screamed as I ran over to him.

He was okay, thank god. I then saw a blue light, it almost reminded me of blue thunder. I felt something to my mouth, a cloth. I tried to fight it but I fell asleep.

...........................

Just as I did before, I opened my eyes slowly, the light was blinding. I closed my eyes again, I heard someone coming.

"It's her necklace." A voice with a somewhat Russian accent said. "I know it."

"We don't know, she is the only one who knows how it works." This man was clearly American, he paused for a second."Shouldn't she be awake by now?"

Someone placed a finger on my neck, checking my heartbeat, they also put one under my nose, probably checking my breathing.

"She's awake." The American guy said. "We aren't dangerous, I promise." He then said softer.

I opened my eyes and saw a man in his mid-50s, I there was also a man who couldn't be more than 25.
I was on a huge dark bed, it was honestly very comfortable, but, I couldn't see Simon.

"Where is my brother?" I said, panicking.

"Right here! Right here." A woman with short brown hair said.

She gave him to me and I immediately calmed down. Simon was fast asleep and I decided to listen to what they might have to say.

"My name is Phil, I have a part in figuring out what the dust is and if there is a way to reverse it." The man with an American accent grabbed my hand and shook it.

"I am Dice, I lost both my parents in the dust thing, when I and my brother got to London I almost got shot and to finish it off, the man who tried to shoot me..." I started, realizing that I talked too much and I maybe shouldn't tell them what happened to the man.

"Well you have a dramatic life, I am Pietro." The Russian guy said. "How old are you?"

"I am 15 years old, my brother is 8 months," I said although that was kind of random.

"That necklace?" It was Pietro who asked first.

"It was my mother's engagement ring, they were going to marry next month." I hesitated to continue but I did. "She didn't have it on when she.. eh.. you know."

"I'm sorry.." Pietro smiled at me. "So it is very special, isn't it?"

I nodded as an answer and Phil signalled Pietro to stop.

"So, where were you going?" Phil asked me. "Do you have any relatives to go to?"

"I do, her name is like May Parker or something, I think she lives in like Queens." I smiled thinking that they might help me get there.

"Lucky you, we are currently in Brooklyn." Phil said. "We can take you to her pretty quickly."

"Brooklyn? How long have I been here?" I asked I was just in London.

"Only two days, we have our ways," Pietro said smiling. (Hah, that rhymed.)

"Creep," I said.

.............................

"Just up those stairs, the door at the end of the corridor," Phil told me as he had an obviously fake smile.

"Uh, thank you?" I said, smiling back.

I walked up the metal stairs and knocked on the door.

"Peter?!" A woman who seemed to have been crying opened the door, she looked disappointed when she saw me. "Who are you?"

"I am Dice Evergreen, daughter of Sebastian Evergreen. I'm like your nephew or something." I said, realizing pretty quickly that it sounded like something from a movie. "And this is Simon, my little brother."

"You came all the way from Britain?" She looked me in my eyes, her long brown hair was a mess and her brown eyes were swollen from crying. "Did Lily and Sebastian? No..."

"Uh, I'm sorry." I started crying. "They told me to go here, I... I uh, don't know what to do now."

May hugged me, comforted me and for the first time these past days I felt happy, almost safe. But May didn't.

"Who's Peter?" I asked, trying to understand what was so wrong.

"He's my late husband's nephew, he has been living with me since he was 6 years old, he's 16 now." She looked away. "He's everything to me, I can't bear to lose him."

"Why?" I asked, needing to clear the question I continued. "I mean, why has he been living with you?"

"His parents died so I guess the same reason you are here." She said.

"I'm sorry," I said, did I make her sad, sadder?

"It's okay, you couldn't have known." She smiled at me, still looking sad. "You must be starving, Simon too."

I almost forgot about food, she was right, I was very hungry. Simon said one of the few words he had learned, food, okay, well foos, so I guess he was.

May said she would be back in 20 minutes, she was going to buy something for Simon to eat and take-out for me and her.

Only a few minutes after May left I heard a knock on the door. There was no way to see who it was through any hole so I carefully opened.

"May?"

Hello... I just wanna say that I am in no way British (I think) and therefore I have no idea how they talk, like what words they use so you'll have to bear with me.
