"Ella, you don't have to walk me to class." Will was telling Ella.

"I want to, come on." She said. The bell had rung and now it was time for us to go to our last class of the day. Ella had to go to Economics but she was urging Will to let her escort him to Psychology. Joey had to go to AP Chemistry and had left already.

"Hey, Psychology is right across from Philosophy. I'll walk with him." I volunteered. "Will, can I walk with you? I have to go to Philosophy anyways." Ella looked at me surprised and then back at her brother.

"Sure." Will answered.

"Yeah. I guess so." Ella agreed. "I'll talk to you guys later."

"Well, I've got Economics with Ella." Penny replied. "See you." She turned and walked up the other way with Ella. Izzy, Clark, Will and I were left together going one way. I walked close next to Will and Izzy walked on my side and Clark walked on the other side of Will.

"What do you guys have?" I asked them.

"Clark and I have World Cultures." Izzy replied. "Which is a little farther down the hallway from Philosophy."

"Oh, well that's convenient." I said. I happened to glance down at Izzy's wrist and I noticed a beautiful charm bracelet, peeking out from her long sleeved plad shirt. "Wow, I love your bracelet!" She held up her arm for me to see it closer.

"Thanks. My mom gave it to me for my birthday." She said. I carefully took her wrist and looked at all of the pretty charms. The most noticeable one was a dangling heart and the some of them were shiny butterflies, like diamonds. While I looked at her bracelet, her sleeve slipped down lower and that's when I saw it.

Most of her arm passed her wrist was horribly discolored with purple and black bruises. The same color as my eye. I stared at it for a minute and then my eyes flickered to her worried expression. She quickly pulled her arm away. I looked at Will and Clark, who were both staring at us.

"Izzy, what happened?" I asked her.

"Nothing. I- I fell down my stairs." She said quickly.

"You don't have any stairs in your house, Izzy." Will exclaimed from next to me.

"Well, I was at my aunt's house okay?" She snapped.

"Come on Izzy, let's go. We don't want to be late for World Cultures," Clark added quickly, walking around me to grab her hand. He walked forward with her quickly and I stared after them, disbelief plastered to my face as I gaped at them. I glanced back at Will and he shrugged.

"Do you think Izzy could be in danger?" I asked him seriously.

"I don't know. We could ask Clark, he's her best friend. He knows everything about her." He said, taking one slow step at a time.

"Yeah. That would be a good idea." I agreed.

The bell finally rang for the end of the day after a class period that seemed like it was never end. I took two full pages of notes, just for Philosophy. My Philosophy teacher Mr. Hoover is obsessed with Freidrich Nietzche, the famous philosopher that wrote a lot of books. He talks a lot about him in class and he's having us write a paper on our favorite philosopher and what they believed in. I'll write about Wittgenstein, he seems like he has it figured out. It's due next Monday.

I walked down the hall in the sea of people pushing passed each other. I saw Ella heading the opposite way to pick up Will. I thought about going with her, but I knew she still didn't like me.

I heard a loud voice shouting across the crowd as I continued to walk.

"Party at my house on Saturday! My parents are going out of town for the weekend!" It was a guy's voice and I saw a flock of neon green papers fly into the air and sail to the sea of students. There were cheers all among the crowd and people were pushing and shoving to get a neon paper.
