I laid wide awake in my bed, staring at the ceiling, knowin that the tears will spill if I don't focus. I heard my parents yelling in the background.
"Shut the Fuck up! I know that we have 3 dollars in the bank!"
"Bitch! If you didn't take her out the other day then we'd have money for food this month!"
"She wouldn't shut up about saying that she needed new shoes! I got tired of it!"
A few more minutes of yelling, then everything went quiet which means they made up and went to bed. It's been happening alot more lately. I couldn't help but blame myself either. It was true, my shoes had holes in them and I needed new ones. My mom took me to get some from the converse outlet because those are the only shoes I would wear. She said we could afford it, though she seems aggrivated about me constantly asking. After a few more minutes of me laying there, I started to doze off. I woke up to my mom shaking me awake.
"Get up, and pack all of your clothes."
"Why mom?"
"Just do it! You're going somewhere." She snapped and walked out of the room and slammed the door. I didn't know what was happening, but I needed to do what she said, she was my mother after all. I went to the bathroom so I could brush my hair and get all my toiletries. My red hair was everywhere, and I obviously didn't have time to do anything to it, So i brushed it and threw it into a ponytail. Quickly I brushed my teeth and grabbed all of my things. I went back into my room to grab the old suitcase I had. I grabbed all of my clothes and out them in there, I was so happy I had spent the day before doing all my laundry, it may have only been maybe a load and a half, but still it was enough to keep me going.
"Hey mom?" I asked quietly while opening my door.
"What?"
"Do I bring my laptop or any books or anything?"
"Yes, bring everything you feel like you would need to keep you entertained." I nodded and grabbed my laptop, and a few of my favorite books, my ipod, and some pencils and paper. I was scared, and I had no idea what was going to happen...but I no that what ever was going to happen, it would happen for a reason...I guess. I had been raised my entire life to not really question why someone did something, so I didn't. After 16 years you'd think that I would start to question my parents, but I tried not to. I didn't want to make them angry. They worked hard to get to where they were now. They were retired, but had worked hard their entire lives to be able to be retired. Once all of my stuff was packed I went out into the living room.
"Hey mom, I have everything packed...uhm...can I ask where we're going?"
She looked at me and shook her head, "Go grab your things. We have to go." I nodded and grabbed all my things. I looked at my room, and I felt the tears threaten to fall, I didn't want to leave... We sat in the car for about 30 minutes and got to airport.
My mom helped me get all my stuff out of the car and handed me a ticket. "This is goodbye, you'll be taken care of where you're going."
"But mom I don't want to leave!"
"You have to."
"But mom-" She cut me off, and got in the car and left. The tears came flooding down my face. I sighed and grabbed my things...I went into the airport and did everything I needed to do....and got on the plane. I didn't know where I was going in all honesty. By the time I had gotten directions to the gate they were already taking tickets so I just got on and sat there. I felt numb, I didn't know what to do or how to take any of this...I sighed and closed my eyes. Maybe some sleep would help me figure out how to take everything...
