Eagle climbed onto a building, looking around for something to do. He saw some more ships approaching the island, with a flag he recognized.
"Bog Burglers." He said to himself, smiling.
Surely Camicazi would be interested in sparring, she always had an interesting trick up her sleeve. So Eagle jumped from building to building, and got to the dock before anyone else, just in time to greet them.
"Eagle!" Chieftess Bertha boomed, happy to see him.
"Chieftess Bertha, glad to see you guys here!" Eagle yelled back.
"Camicazi! One of your friends are her!" Bertha yelled.
Camicazi quickly sprinted out, eager to see who.
Cami had crazy, blond hair, a blood red shirt, and a black vest. She was also almost as tall as he was.
"My sparring buddy?" Cami said when she saw him.
"The one and only." Eagle said.
The two embraced, happy to see each other."So where is Stoick?" Bertha asked.
"Right here." Stoick said, as he and Striker walked up.
"And who's the other?" She asked, looking at Striker.
"Chief Striker, of the Edge Tribe." He said, extending his hand.
"Chieftess Bertha, of the Bog Burglers." Bertha told, shaking his hand.
Eagle nudged Cami.
"Let's go, it's going to get boring real fast." He said.
The two left, unnoticed.
"How about the arena, if they have one." Cami suggested.
"Sounds good. I hope you can give me a challenge." Eagle teased, referencing their first meet.Flashback, Nine Years Ago
"So, who are you?" A younger Camicazi asked.
"My name's Eagle, one of the best warriors of our generation!" Eagle declared proudly.
"Oh please, I bet Snotloud could beat you." Cami sneered.
"He's already tried, and failed." Astrid said, walking up to them.
"Hmm, maybe a duel is in order." Cami said, looking over Eagle.
"I accept your challenge. Any conditions that you want to establish?" Eagle asked.
"Swords only." She said confidently.
Cami was well trained with lots of weapons, but the sword was her favorite.
"Very well." Eagle said.
They went to the arena, with the other teens.
"You ready?" Tuffnut yelled.
Both nodded.
"No killing, or ripping off limbs. Begin!" Tuff yelled.
Cami drew her double handed sword, while Eagle drew his twin blades.
Both circling around, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.CLANG!
The swords clashed, sparks flying as they grinded together. Cami swept at his feet, but Eagle cut her cheek, and forced her to retreat.
"You'll pay for that." Cami said, eerily calm.
She jumped up, slamming her sword down. Eagle rolled right before the strike, and slashed her left arm, making her growl in pain. She tried striking again, with a middle aimed blow, drawing a cut on Eagle.
"Nice one." He complemented.
Eagle then went on the offensive, and started dealing swift blows to Cami. She blocked half of them, the other half cutting her. They traded some blows, until Eagle surprised her. He hit her in the back, and hit the hilt of his sword against her collarbone, stunning her, knocked her down, and then putting his swords to her neck.
"I win." He said.
She stared at him, and knew he was right.
"You win." She surrendered.
Eagle grinned, and helped her to her feet.
"You don't fight like any other Vikings I've fought." Cami said.
"I'm not a normal Viking." Eagle said.
From that point, they fought every time when their tribes visited each other, which was every few years.Back to the Present
"You ready?" Cami asked.
Eagle smiled. The two rushed, and the clanging of steel echoed from the arena. They traded blows, and each knew they had improved. Cami decided to have some conversation while dueling.
"Has Stoick taken a new Heir yet?" She asked as they clashed yet again.
"No. He still has hope that his son will return." Eagle replied, sheathing his swords.
Cami looked at him.
"Are you giving up?" She asked, disappointed.
"In your dreams." He said, raising his fists.
She shrugged, and swung her sword. Eagle slid under the blow, and jumped up behind her. She turned around, slashing her sword downward. Eagle flicked his wrist, and her sword was diverted as he pinned her to the ground.
"Wha... how?" She said, trying to process the turn.
"You are getting really good. Maybe better than Astrid." She blushed at the praise.
"But I still can't beat you! And what was that trick, did you arm your sleeves?" She rambled on for a bit longer, asking some more questions, but giving no time for a response."You done yet?" Eagle asked, making sure she was still sane.
"Yes." She said, disappointed she had lost again.
"Look." Eagle said.
She looked at him, and he moved his hands, attracting her attention. He flicked his wrists, showing a small, but long blade appear from each wrist.
"How?" She asked, surprised.
"It took me a while, but with a flick of the wrist, a small mechanism activates, which springs out the blade." He told her.
"Did you make it?" She asked.
"No, it was found in the wreck I was found in, it just took me a long time to repair it." He replied.
"Could you make me one?" She asked.
Eagle rubbed his neck.
"Well, when I found it, it was usable, but dangerous. I nearly cut off my fingers working it." Eagle replied.
"So can you or not?" She pressed.
"It will take me a while, but yeah, I could." Eagle said, smiling.
"Great, and I want to add some custom designs to it." Cami said, already thinking of some plans.
"Fine by me, but I'll also need some materials I don't have." Eagle said, looking at the blades.
"Like what?" Cami asked.
"Iron, which I know Berk doesn't have." He responded.
"We have some iron you could borrow. We actually brought some of it here." She said happily, a smile forming.
"You're not actually planning on stealing from your own tribe!" Eagle exclaimed.
"If you want the iron, you'll keep your voice down!" Cami said furiously.
Eagle sighed, but agreed. They quickly made a plan, Cami would distract and lure the guards away, while Eagle would take the required iron deposit.
