Camicazi P.O.V.
Camicazi was told of the big tournament just a few hours later, when Eagle and a few others walked up to her.
"Hey there Cami." Eagle said, walking up to her.
"Hey Eagle. Who are these people?" She asked, gesturing to the people following him.
"Oh, this is Blaze, John, Corna, and Orrin." Eagle said, pointing to each of them.
"Everyone, this is Camicazi, Heir to the Bog Burglar tribe." He declared.
"I can introduce myself." She said, rolling her eyes.
"Have you heard the big news?" Orrin asked excitedly.
"What news?" Cami asked.
"There is going to be a big tournament in a few days, and all three tribes are participating!" Corna excitedly yelled.
"That sounds absolutely amazing!" Cami said happily.
"It's definitely going to be exciting." John said.
They told her about more of the specifics of the tournament, and they all got very pumped up for it."Got anyone you want to challenge personally?" Eagle had later asked her.
They were in the forge, making the wrist blades Eagle had promised to make for Camicazi.
"I don't think so. But I'll think about it." She replied.
"I'm definitely going to challenge Blaze." Eagle said, dipping some hot steel into a cold barrel of water.
"Why Blaze? He just seems like a normal guy." Cami asked.
"Something about him... he just seems off." Eagle said, shaking his head.
"You don't always have to assume something bad about new people, you know." Cami replied, moving to stand next to him.
"Sometimes it's good to assume the worst can happen." He countered.
"Just relax. They all seemed nice enough. I doubt any of them could be that person from before." Cami said, shuddering at the memory.
"I still don't know how he disappeared like that." Eagle said, laying down his tools for a moment.
"Maybe that's enough for today." Cami said.
They picked up the equipment and left.
"We were in there a bit longer then I thought." Cami mumbled, looking at the blackened sky.
Eagle heard a a quiet squeak, and looked around. He saw a large Deadly Nadder, and pointed it out. He drew his axes from in his robes. It must have been a Titan-wing, because it was so large.
The Nadder saw them, and approached them, calmly.
"What is it doing?" Cami asked.
It didn't look viscous, and Eagle noticed it was limping. He sheathed his axes, and walked up to it. He gently put his hand on it, and it stared at him. He was able to make out slash marks all over it, but especially on its legs. It only made him think of what Cami had looked like when she had been attacked.
"Eagle, get away from it!" Cami hissed at him.
"It's hurt." Eagle said, turning to his friend.
They stared at each other, and Eagle couldn't help but feel like this dragon was special.
"I can't leave it like this." He said, tears of pity for the dragon falling from his face.
"I'll help you, alright?" Eagle asked it.
It squawked in joy.
"You'll need a name, for now at least. How about, Stormbearer?" He asked.
It chirped in joy at the name.
Eagle turned to Camicazi.
"Are you going to help, or tell the Chief?" He asked.
Cami's duty was to her Tribe, but she feared what Eagle would do if she betrayed him.
"I won't tell anyone. But I'm not helping a beast!" She said, growling back at the Nadder.
The dragon hissed back, but Eagle separated the two.
"Alright, you don't have to help." He said.
Eagle grabbed the dragon gently by the neck, and lead it away from the village, into the forest. He tore off
some pieces of his clothing, and used them as bandages for the Titan Nadder. Once he was done with that, he patted the dragon's head. He was about to walk away, when it squawked at him.
"You want me to stay?" He asked.
It nodded its head.
"Alright then." He said, and laid down near it.Eagle woke the next day, covered in darkness. He shoved his way through the strange darkness, only to find that it was the Nadder's wings covering him. It yawned a loud yawn, and he wouldn't have been surprised if someone found them.
"You good?" Eagle asked it, stretching his back.
"Roar!"
"I'll take that as a yes." Eagle said.
Suddenly the dragon got up, shaking its wings. It lunged and grabbed Eagle in its jaws, before flipping him on to back.
"What are you..." Eagle started to ask, before the dragon quickly flew up.
"A little warning next time!" He shouted at the Nadder.
He held on, barely keeping from falling.
"Wait... what's that?" He asked himself.
He peered over the Nadder's crown of spikes, and saw a bunch of ships.
"I don't recognize the sails." He mumbled.
Holding tight to the Nadder's neck, he told it to go closer. They flew forward, and he got a better look at the sails. They were pictures of Monstrous Nightmares being stabbed through the chest. The lead ship was the only one with a different sail, it was a giant fist. He looked forward, there were so many ships, it went past the horizon.
"Looks like an armada of dragon slayers." He mumbled to himself.
"We need to get back." He told the Nadder.Once they landed back on the island, he jumped off.
"An armada of dragon killers is coming to the island. But why here, and why now?" He paused to his own question.
He looked at the dragon near him.
"For now, I'm going to warn the people. You stay here, okay." The dragon nodded to the order.
He nodded, and bade it farewell as he left for the village. He immediately ran to find one of the Chiefs, not really caring about anyone else he passed by. He found them in the Great Hall. All talking to each other. He vaulted over the tables that were in his way, ignoring the yells of the people who had their plates slide away when he hit them.
"Chief! Chief Stoick!" Eagle said as he got to them.
They turned around in surprise.
"Eagle, what is it?" Stoick asked.
"There are ships on the horizon. Heavily armed for attack." Eagle replied.
Chief Striker stood up.
"I should've known they wouldn't stay gone for long." Striker said.
"Who's 'they?'" Bertha asked, rising with the others.
"A bunch of men who are out to kill everyone in my village." Striker told.
"Well, looks like we've got a fight. How many ships?" Stoick asked Eagle.
"To many to count, and each of them have several dozen men on them." Eagle said.
Stoick nodded.
"Get the word out to prepare for battle." Stoick ordered.
Eagle nodded, and took off to tell everyone in the village. He found the large horn that most tribes held, which often signaled battle. He breathed in, and blew into it, and listened to the horn bellow. Everyone ran towards the horn, recognizing the sound. As soon as everyone was gathered, Eagle drew his axes from his cloak.
"Enemy ships are arriving! PREPARE FOR WAR!" He shouted out.
All the people shouted their battle cries, and ran off to make preparations for the fight.
Blaze walked up to Eagle.
"You never said who it's against." He said.
"Their sails had the design of a Monstrous Nightmare being gutted." Eagle replied, shaking his head.
Blaze didn't look surprised.
"Some old mercenaries out for our blood." Blaze said.
"There's a lot more than a few of them. Their ships go past the horizon." Eagle told him.
Blaze started walking away.
"Stay alive, I still want a sparring match." Blaze said sternly.
"You better survive to." Eagle replied.
The two clamped arms together."How do they work?" Cami asked.
Eagle was showing her how to use the wrist blades he had finished crafting for her.
"So you flick your wrist, and move your fingers back." He instructed.
She moved her fingers back, and moved her wrist. The blade appeared.
"And move your hand back to sheath the blade." Eagle said.
She moved her fingers back, and the blade moved back.
"Just be careful when giving handshakes." He joked.
She chuckled a bit.
"Are you nervous for the battle?" Cami asked him.
"No." He replied.
"I'm just wondering why they chose to attack now." He said.
The loud horn sounded once again.
"They're here. Let's greet our enemies." Cami said.
Eagle could agree more as they rushed off to the docks.
