Paris's Point Of View:
"My queen, an invitation arrived for you," I heard a butler say as he bowed to my mother, handing her an envelope sealed with red wax. "It's from King Dracula and Queen Marry." He stood by then as he watched my mother. "It was sent with the message that they would like it very much that the prince of France accompany the two of you." He gestured to my mother and me. My mother looked the envelope over before grabbing a knife off her desk and cut it open. She pulled out the slip of paper and opened it- beginning to read. I walked up to the edge of the desk- sitting the book down on it that I got from the shelves. She had asked for it. I sat down in my seat in front of the desk slowly.
"Mom?" I asked. "What does it say? Should I go get father?" Her eyes shot up at me after scrolling through the letter.
"Go get your father," she said calmly. I left the room quickly- heading straight across the hall for my father's study. I knocked on it before entering- catching him at his desk as well. He was hovering over a map while reading a paper.
"Dad?" I asked. His eyes shot up at me. "Mom needs you," I told him and pointed over my shoulder. "There's a letter from the- Dracula?" He smiled.
"I'll be there in a second," he told me as he looked to be wrapping up the pages on his desk. I went back to my mother- who was already writing something. I sat back down in my seat, waiting for my father. When he walked in, he went straight up to my mother and kissed the top of her head. "What does he want?" He asked in amusement.
"They're throwing a ball for their youngest. It'll be his birthday soon. So they asked for us to come with Paris." She looked towards me and eyed me over. She handed over the letter to him.
"Oh?" He asked as he eyed over the letter. "Paris, this will be your first formal event." He looked towards me. "You should wear your best clothes. Our good friends asked us to stay a few days as well. This is going to become very serious for you. It's about time you learned your duties. You're getting closer in age." He's right. I was fifteen- but my dad still had me following my mother around. He claimed he wanted to wait another year before training me... looks like this is going to be the end of following my mother.
"Yes, father." I eyed him over and raised an eyebrow.
"Well, I'll tell the servants to pack our clothes." My mother gave a huge smile as she left the room. My father walked up to me and laid his hand down on my shoulder. He patted it before leaving. I stood up slowly, looking towards the butler standing off to the side.
"You should get back to work," I suggested. I picked up the knife off my mother's desk and ran my fingers across the blade. My shoulders were aching. I haven't been able to scratch them all morning. He looked me over then before he walked up and took the knife from me then placed it in my mother's drawer.
"Of course, master Paris. However, you shouldn't hold your mother's knife. I know about your shoulder habits," he told me before he gave me a look then left the room, calling out for a maid to instruct.
~Time Skip~
As we walked through the doors of a giant, majestic (and somewhat dark looking) castle, I saw a butler waiting to greet us, but four people walked up instead, looking directly at my father and mother. "You're about an hour late, Alexandre," I heard the oldest dark haired man say as he looked my father over. "We've been waiting for you. My son has been impatient to meet yours." The youngest boy looked at me in excitement then and laughed before he started to run up to me, but his mother tsked at him, making him widen his eyes.
"Don't run. Walk," she told him sternly, watching him closely. He looked back at her then.
"Yes mom," he said and blushed.
