Baylorik's POV:

I looked down at the small dragon in my hands, clenching my jaw slightly. It's been five years, and now she crawls back to me? What is this? Is she trying to take my hoard? I glanced towards Victor and a she-wolf, looking them over before I looked at her and started to carry her off. "What are you doing here?" I asked her sharply.

"I'm coming back to you silly," she told me and gave me a sweet look. I frowned and gave a small growl.

"Why?" She wants something. I bet her coins got stolen from her. Most dragons pick on her kind and take their treasure they manage to gather.

"Well... I sort of lost my coins," she whispered. "So I didn't get my mate I hoped for." I tsked then.

"I thought you must have lost them," I muttered. "You want more coins, don't you?" She knows I'm the only big dragon willing to be nice to her and take pity. She gave me an expecting look then. I huffed at her then and dropped her onto the ground, stepping over her. I knew it. She can go get coins some other way. She chased after my feet then.

"Baylorik," she whined. "I don't have anything anymore."

"It's been five years," I hissed, picking up the pace to avoid her latching onto me.

"I missed you too!" She kept up with me the best she could. "Did you miss me?"

"A little, but I'm not going to give you coins again. You'll just lose them to another dragon," I muttered.

"But... Baylorik... mating season is on it's way and... I want a mate." She caught up to my feet and got on one. I looked down at her before I stopped and frowned. Mating season is coming up soon? I watched her then leaned down and picked her back up into my hands.

"You still want a mate? You'll end up sharing your coins, and he might take them from you."

"I want a mate and a nest," she purred. "With little eggs in it and some coins." She rubbed her head against my hands. I watched her then frowned before I rubbed her head with my thumb.

"You'd have better luck with that little dream of yours if you got someone to protect you," I muttered. "You know you're too little to do much on your own."

"I know," she sighed out and jumped up onto my shoulder. "So can I have some coins?" I puffed out my cheeks then scraped her off my shoulder, dumping her into the ground.

"No." She growled and jumped up onto my foot.

"Baylorik," she whined out.

"These are my coins! I'm not giving them to you for you to lose them," I hissed and started for the castle doors.

"You have so many though," she whispered.

"You'll come back to me in five years again and ask me for more," I told her and frowned. "Then in another five years, you'll come back and ask again." Besides, I already have that baby to worry about that's been running around with Laurence's favor.

"Can I do a task for you to earn coins?" She asked. I watched her closely then tsked.

"Fine, do me a task, and I'll reward you with a sapphire and two coins," I told her calmly. She gave a huge smile.

"Anything for that," she told me.

"Go steal me the biggest diamond out of the dragon queen's nest," I told her and smirked. She frowned and lowered her head.

"The dragon queen?" She asked. "That's dangerous." I laughed then and scooped her up before I rubbed her head.

"Oh, don't worry.... I want you to give a baby dragon a fright and get me some fish- lots of fish. I want a month's worth of fish," I told her and purred. She sighed before nodding.
