Yawning and stretching, Therin rolled out of bed. Just last night, a new girl had come into Daydream. Based on her modern attire, she naturally suspected that the newbie, Sira, was one of the last of six recruits, hence why she was sleeping in the same dorm building. And now, Olivia was on her way to find the very last. FINALLY, they would get to do something after waiting for forever.

Therin and her brother, Ryan, had come to Dream a couple weeks ago. Their instructions were to wait and develop their Essences. Supposedly, given time, the next recruits would be found. But secretly, Therin believed that Anima didn't have a plan. That this Reaper that they were supposed to fight scared the deity just as much as it did them.

When they had arrived, Olivia had already been here for a month or so and the other guy, who had only introduced himself as Dom, had resided in daydream for almost two years. Obviously, he was powerful by now, but he hardly ever used his Essence. Therin had tried to get him to show her some moves, but the teenager just declined her, going into his residence and sealing it off.

Regardless, while Olivia was having fun frolicking in Nightmare (which for some reason is a good place for a recruit to awaken), it was Therin's duty to get Sira up to speed. It was quite daunting, considering she was, like, three years older than Therin. Dom couldn't do it because he had to patrol the gates and Ryan was scouting, so... ugh. She just had to bide her time until Olivia got back. They were the same age, but Olivia was far more experienced than her.

Changing quickly, Therin slowly opened the door and quietly crept down the stairs. Maybe Sira wasn't awake yet. She reached the bottom and sighed. There was the noob, waiting, tapping her fingers on the table impatiently. She was dressed in the same black outfit as yesterday, her short, highlighted hair pulled back into a layered ponytail. She was pretty, and it was intimidating, but Therin had no time for being intimidated. She was going to intimidate her.

Taking a breath, Therin uttered a greeting, "Up already?"

Sira sighed, "I was hoping someone here might finally have some answers."

"Riiiight. Well, they sorta assigned the wrong person to you. Since the last recruit will be arriving today, we'll probably have a meeting or something to talk about the... thing... that Anima wants us to do. Did you meet Anima?"

She rolled her eyes. Never mind, Therin was starting to like her, "Yeah, only after she summoned me ten thousand feet up."

And the tension was broken. Therin felt that she could laugh, which, of course, she did, "Don't worry, you're not the only one who's a little peeved at her methods."

"A little? Yeah, now I'll never get my homework done. You say time runs the same here as it does in the real world?"

Questions, the bane of her existence. Nonetheless, Therin did her best to give an intelligent answer, "Yeah." She was kinda hurried.

"And, if this is Dream, which is literally the world of sleep, how come we still need to sleep?"

Again, she pondered long and hard on her response, "I dunno."

Sira muttered something under her breath. Therin figured she probably didn't want to know what it was. The noob spoke aloud to her, though, "Fine, teach me how to use magic."

Therin paused for effect, "Well, actually, it's called Essence, and each of us recruits has a large amount of it. And all of the indigenous inhabitants of Dream-"

"I don't care, just teach me before we get into exposition or whatever. That's always boring in a book."

Therin sighed again, "Alright, no need to be contrary. The easiest way for me to learn was to connect to something I already loved. I always feel tranquil watching a fire. Not exactly safe, as everyone keeps telling me, but I have it under control. Y'know, now, anyway."
