Chapter Sixteen

"Your parents are worried about you. You know they never stopped looking for you and would really like to see you," Liam spoke softly.

Charlie didn't respond; he just blankly stared at the wall in front of him.

"You know I have a son. He's ten. Around the same age, you were when you were taken. His name is Matthew and if something happened to him, I would wanna find out who hurt him."

Charlie closed his eyes.

Liam looked at his watch 3 pm.

The kids and Lennie's brother ought to be arriving at the hotel soon.

Liam sighed as he stood up from the chair and walked out of the hospital room.

Julian was sitting in a chair against the wall reading a book about the Hexagram symbol. He looked up when he felt Liam's presence.

Liam shook his head.

They walked out of the hospital and got into the SUV.

"Drop me off at the hotel," said Liam, "Apparently Lennie's brother is bringing the kids down, and we are all gonna go out to eat."

Julian nodded.

He dropped Liam off at the hotel, then headed to the police station.

When Liam opened up his hotel room door, he was welcomed by Matthew.

"Liam!" he shouted.

Matthew Connor has bright baby blue eyes that could light up the sky. He has natural curly brownish blonde hair and an adorable smile.

Nerezza Rose has long straight dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes.

"Hey buddy," Liam chuckled as he picked up Matthew.

"Liam!" shouted Nerezza as she ran up to him.

Liam put Matthew down, and Nerezza jumped into his arms. "God I missed you so much."

"Hey baby," said Lennie when he came out of the bathroom.

"Hi honey," said Liam as he put Nerezza down and kissed Lennie.

"Where's Josh?" asked Liam, "Is he going out to dinner with us?" Liam unholstered his weapon at his side and put it in his dresser drawer. He never brought it when he went out with his family. But he kept the other in his boot at all times in case of emergencies.

Josh is Lennie's identical twin brother. Most outsiders couldn't tell them apart from one another. But Liam, Nerezza, and Matthew could. They both have shiny short brown hair and light blue eyes. Even though they may look a lot alike, their personalities are entirely different.

Lennie is hard-working and can stay focused on something for an extended period of time while Josh has the attention span of a five-year-old. Josh tends to be carefree and foolish, while Lennie is the responsible one. Despite their differences, they have always been close.

"He's checking out the hotel room next door. We all can't sleep in one room."

Matthew bounced a bouncy ball against the wall as Nerezza jumped on the bed.

"Nezzie get off the bed. You're gonna hurt yourself," said Liam.

Nerezza sighed and hopped off the bed and onto the floor.

"Have you two decided where we are going to eat?" asked Liam.

"Chuck E Cheese!" shouted Matthew.

Lennie chuckled. "I was thinking The Burger Glory Tavern."

"What's that?" asked Nerezza.

"They serve all different types of burgers."
