Jeongguk's PoV;
Yes, I feel bad for lying to Taehyung.
However, it was the best thing to do.
"Jungwoo!" I greeted cheerfully, hugging the adorable bean.
"Jeon!" He smiled, hugging me tightly, "I've missed you so much!"
"I've missed you tons." I replied, pulling apart.
"How many shifts have you got?" He asked.
"Five. You?"
"Four this week." He wrinkled his nose, "work with me."
"Where are your deliveries?"
"Local area."
"Same."
--------------------------------------
Me and Jungwoo walked towards the next customer, one on my list.
You see, we were 'run' buddies back when I was seventeen.
Both of us were broke students at the time and so we met while looking for a bit of extra money.
I suppose drug dealing wouldn't be your first go-to, but for us, it was easy money.
Even more so when you were running it for a gang.
Taeyong was the boss of the drug dealing deliveries.
Some kid called Park Jin Woo, who went by JinJin, was in charge of the weapon imports.
Usually, I'd deliver drugs but occasionally I did weapons.
My shifts for this week consisted of four 'normal' days and the fifth one would be a weapon run.
I lit up a cigarette as we waited in the alleyway, in a half attempt to lower the suspicions of waiting there at nearly one in the morning.
Jungwoo was growing tired waiting for the customer, keeping himself awake by tapping his feet and murmuring softly to the song that must've been stuck in his head.
"Got the shit?" A rough voice mumbled.
"You're late." I deadpanned, blowing out smoke, "depends, have you got the money?"
"How much?"
"Million for twenty grams, five million for eighty."
"Fucking hell, prices have gone up." The guy cursed, pulling his wallet out as I swung the baggy in my hand.
"Coke's expensive, especially if you're wanting the pure shit." I replied, watching as he counted.
Jungwoo held his hand out for the money, the guy pressing it into his hand as I offered him two bags.
"Twenty grams of pure blow. Go wild." I said, sucking in the smoke from the cigarette and blowing it out as I watched the guy with steady eyes.
Cautiously, he licked his finger and dipped it into the powder before rubbing it onto his gums and thinking about the taste.
"Tastes weird." He said, "you sure this is pure?"
"It's coke, not candy." I shook my head, "it isn't going to taste great. We're drug dealers not confectioners. Yes, it's pure. That's why it's so expensive. Impure shit is half the price."
He hummed, shifting his weight between his feet.
It was shifts like these that made me realise how much I preferred to be in school. Sitting in art with my contacts in, talking to Taehyung about flowers. Or in dance class, practicing with Hoseok and Jimin for a piece that helped us match our moves to the beat of different songs. Or sitting in music, helping Yoongi compose a song or messing around on the computers with Jimin. Or sitting at the lunch table, listening to Namjoon and Jin discuss something to do with chemistry while I'd sit there clueless, feeling my brain shrink when they turned to me to ask for an explanation on addition polymers.
