Taehyung's PoV;

"Morning, sunshine." A deep voice greeted me, the sound ever so slightly scratchy and definitely sexy.

It was worth waking up for.

"Mmm. Morning." I grumbled back, nuzzling my head further into whatever this warmth was.

"Don't go back to sleep, petal. You'll get a headache." The voice sounded again, rubbing my lower back with warm hands.

"Warm." I murmured, moving my head like a cat when its getting stroked.

Fuck, I might even purr, I'm that comfortable.

"Five minutes then." He laughed.

I woke up later, a lot later than when I had originally woken up, judging by the dull ache in my temples.

Rubbing my head with my hands, I opened my eyes to see the bed vacant, only a pool of covers to my left.

Maybe Jeongguk had to go back home.

Shrugging, I manoeuvred myself out of bed, feeling the bunched up hoodie drop to my mid-thigh as I walked to my door.

As I washed my face with the tap water, I heard a soft bark and a squeal a second later.

Does Yeontan squeal?

I hope not.

If that's a new trick he's learnt, he'll decide to practice it at two in the morning.

Like when he learnt that his cage made noise if he headbutted it. Since then, he'd spend about half an hour every night doing so before he got tired, choosing to have a round of barks for another ten minutes and then he'd fall asleep.

I definitely wished sometimes that he had a mute button.

He was cute, but I didn't need his loud ritual every single night.

I patted my face with the towel and ran my fingers through my messy hair before leaving it in the state that it was, offering a shrug to myself in the mirror before exiting the room.

As I neared the room, the soft barks and squeals got louder.

Popping my head around the wall, I saw Jeongguk laid on the floor, his knuckle in Yeontan's mouth as the dog chewed playfully, barking when Jeongguk moved his hand.

The squeals must've come from Jeongguk in reaction to Yeontan's cuteness.

Smiling, I leant on the doorframe as I watched the two play.

Jeongguk cursed as Yeontan nipped his skin, pretending to cry as he covered his face.

Yeontan immediately started running around, barking loudly and whimpering, pawing at Jeongguk's hands before laying on the floor with a soft thud. His head lay atop his paws, nose nudged right up to Jeongguk. He exhaled loudly a few times before making a low growling sound.

Yeontan's ears perked up as Jeongguk copied the quiet rumble.

His head cocked as Jeongguk increased the volume.

Yeontan moved himself into a playful position, butt wiggling as his tail wagged madly.

Jeongguk suddenly moved his hands from his face, capturing the tiny pup and pushing him so his belly was exposed. His fingers tickled the dog's stomach, Yeontan's tongue hanging from his mouth as he enjoyed the tickling.

"Gah! So cute." Jeongguk cooed at the dog.

I coughed subtly, Jeongguk's head snapping towards me.
