In Ruins (Kaito Tenjo x F!Reader)

"Let's go in the ruins, you'll find someone waiting..."

In little ways, everything stays. However, that was not right for Kaito. His world was in ruins, literally. He became lonely and starving. Barely anybody was getting by. Gangs were born from the lust of violence. These groups were also scared, so their bond was formed out of fear. From fear hatred is born, soon violence comes after that. Kaito never was like those rats. He would never stoop to their level. He never wanted to kill to survive. He would try to keep a positive mind.

Soon, he'll be in a place with vegetation and clear skies. A place with smiles and love, no more violence or corpses. He just wanted to escape from the fallen Heartland. The fall from this place ruined him. His arc of courage was almost gone. He didn't want fear to cloud his brain. However, when you're literally fighting for your life, he showed some. Only through his eyes, he became scared. Those are the windows to one's soul. Nothing was the same for him, he felt as if his soul became impure with death. Kaito's heart was torn apart and ripped his body.

"Let's go in the ruins, you'll find someone waiting..."

Sweat covered his body and he shot up, he was breathless. He clutched his heart and tried to take deep breaths. Kaito's heart was beating too fast. Can it be, that nightmare again? Before his world was torn apart, (y/n) was waiting for him. Though he never heard her say that quote: "Let's go in the ruins, you'll find someone waiting..." Who was waiting for him? Could it be (y/n), it would be so unlikely to see her though. He assumed that she was carded or even dead. It broke his heart to think about that.

She was always the one to say: "Everything stays, but you're changing."  He never wanted to think of horribles things about her. He couldn't help but to do it now. She's probably dead, or captured. She did hold a strong power of XYZ. It was only natural, he guessed. Kaito couldn't help but to doubt every single good thought that came to him. Would he ever find another love? Would he ever move on? Or will he die without closure? He just needs to know what happened to (y/n). It's slowly killing his mind.

"Let's go in the ruins, you'll find someone waiting... Right where we almost met." 

Kaito's eyes opened, again he was covered in sweat. He sat up and wiped from of the droplets from his face. This must stand for something, he has to go to those ruins. It was once a grand fountain, but now it's crushed. No more water was flowing through those pipes. Nothing was lively about it. No more change was in it, even the little paint that was once on it was gone. Kaito got up and got dressed. He went out to search for that garden. He let his mind and feet guide him.

Turning left and right, he wondered if the fountain was crushed even more. Kaito climbed over the rubble and tried to remain out of sight. He didn't want anyone to catch him. Someone might jump him or even challenge him. With that on his mind, it only made him go faster. He finally made it there. With that, he ran to the fountain.

"You'll find someone..." The words fell from her mouth, singing it was.

Kaito's eyes widened, "Waiting... I'm, you... I'm with you."
