"bro, jake, do i text her?" i asked my bestfriend jake as we sat downstairs at my house.

"no, no, not yet, wait like a day or two." jake said, he was probably right but i just really wanted to text her.

"bro i still cant believe she gave you her number." jake said

"i find it a bit weird myself, like i don't even understand why she would talk to me."

"yo, just going off a lim here, but what if she ya know found you attractive? or maybe funny? maybe she just thought youd be cool to hang around?" jake said.

"or maybe she was using me." i looked at him

"she wouldnt have given you her number."

"what if its a fake."

"text it."

"but you just said not to." i said

"i know what i said but i want to show you she didn't give you a fake number." jake stated

i pulled my phone out of my pocket and went to her contact.

"what do i say?"

"just be like, is this a fake number or is this lexi graff?"

"so pretty much just be straight forward with it?" i laughed.

"yeah pretty much."

i shook my head at him and looked back down to my phone. i started to text but stoped when my mom called jake's name.

"jake your moms here to pick you up."

my body relaxed and i shut my phone off.

"you were hoping for an interruption weren't you?" jake laughed

"no, kinda, yeah i was." i laughed also.

"i'll see you tomorrow man, remember, don't text her until you're really ready to talk to her."

"thanks man."

with that jake ran up the stairs, i heard him say a few words to my mom and then the front door open and close.

i looked down at the number one last time and shut my phone off, throwing it aside and grabbed a x box controller, playing fortnite.
