"No! Stop! It hurts," I whined, Luke giggled and still didn't let go of my hand. I looked around the street. Only a few people were put at this ungodly hour of the night. And those few people seemed to be staring at us.

I could feel the tension in the open air, it made me squirm. Well, partially because Luke was trying to get a splinter out of my hand.

"Quit squirming! I'm trying to get it out." He huffed, his grip loosened on my hand but quickly tightened again. I sighed and nodded. I fell onto the ground, Luke stumbled a bit and then toppled into of me.

He released my hand because of the fall, and now we were placed in a straddling position. He smirked down at me and leaned down, I widened my eyes and turn my head. His kissed my cheek and then pulled away chuckling. I pouted and he 'awe'd.

"Did you, did you just try to kiss me?" I ask dumbfounded. He shrugged.

"I was, but you turned your head." He winked and I groaned. I shoved him off, but he just fell to the side, laying next to me. We just sat there, looking up at the sky covering us.

The stars seem so small, but in reality, they're huge.

"It's hard to believe something that looks so small, could be bigger than anything you've ever imagined," I heard him mumble and I turned to face him. He was staring straight up, but turned to look at me.

"I like to think that the stars are people. You know, like after they die. I like to believe they're watching over us, watching our mistakes." He continues. I smile, I never thought of it like that. I thought almost something completely different. But in a way, it wasn't entirely different.

"Well, I like to think there is stardust in each of us. Nebulas had to collapse in on themselves for us to be born." I see him crack a grin. A dimple poked out on his cheek. I finally looked away from the lanky blonde and went back to the sky.

"Well, that's a thought. But still, no one knows what's for sure. No one knows what's a lie or what's a truth. You can't tell when the stars will stop shining, or when the world will stop spinning, or when one will stop breathing." His voice cracks. I look across the mass of fire balls.

He's right.

"It's just a matter of time." I whisper. I didn't think he heard me, but he did.

"Basically."

I looked down to my phone, 2:17. I should be heading back. I stuffed my phone away and used the same hand to poke Luke's shoulder. He hummed in response.

"I better get going..." I trailed off. If I were being completely honest, I didn't want to leave. But Drew, my roommate, will be leaving for work in two hours, I can't afford to have him wake up to an empty house.

Luke sighed but nodded.

"I'll walk you home, yeah?" I smiled and nodded.

He stood up, brushing off his pants. I sat up and he offered me his hand. I blushed and grabbed onto it. He pulled up almost effortlessly.

"Hey! You still never bought me my muffin," I gasped.

"You buttface!" I scoffed at him. He chuckled and raised an eyebrow at me.

"Buttface? What's a buttface?"

"You're a buttface!" I smirked. He groaned loudly.

"I'll buy you one next time, okay?"

"Next time?" He blushed and coughed, he looked down at the ground and shrugged.

"There will be a next time, right?" He asks, he's still not meeting my gaze.

"I hope so." I giggled. He smiled widely and we began our journey to my house. Well, my apartment.

The walk was silent, until he spoke up.

"Make a wish." He's looking up, I look up just in time to see a stream of light shoot across the sky. I smile like a child, a shooting star. He holds the same expression as me.

'I wish my life would be full of more surprises.' I begin my wish and just admire Luke.

'Surprises like Luke.'

"What did you wish for?" He asks, I smirk.

"You seemed to have forgotten the golden rule about making a wish," he groans and I hold back a laugh.

"I can't tell you or else it won't come true."

"Well, then." He scoffs. I giggle and look ahead of us, I could see my stop just ahead. I frown and he doesn't fail to notice.

"What's wrong?" He scrunched his eyebrows and I point at my apartment.

"My house is so close." I whine. I seriously didn't want to go home, but I promised Drew I would be there by the time he woke up. I pinky promised him, and I. Way too serious about pinky promises.

"Awe, poo," he pouts.

"I was hoping to keep you captive, just for a little longer." He laughed out.

"Gosh, you creep!"

"Admit it, you had fun." He teases.

"I do admit it. Meeting a cute blonde boy, having a freakishly deep conversation, and making a wish on a star, best night ever." I grin. He blushes and mumbles something I can't hear.

"What was that?"

"Well, I don't really care about the shooting star."

"Why not?"

"Because, no matter what you'll be the star I wish upon." He says when we finally reach my front door. I blush and kiss his cheek.

"Goodnight, Lukey."

"Goodnight, Ashy."

"Come by my work tomorrow? Same time?" I question with a small smile.

"Of course."
