They walked up to his car after they finished eating dinner. He opened her door first then walked to his. Just like a getleman, she thought. She couldn't help but smile when Niall got into the driver's seat.
"Why are you smiling like that?" He asked, smiling himself.
"Because, I was just thinking about these past few weeks and what has happened and I am glad that I got to spend today with you. I missed you like crazy." Natalie responded.
"I missed you too. It was a hard two weeks for both of us." He said while he grabbed her hand. He lightly brushed his thumb in circles. She also missed the way his touch made her feel. She couldn't help recall the loud laughs and the easy way their conversation flowed at dinner. She liked the way it felt. Like they were almost normal again. Breaking the silence, he asked, "What are you thinking about right now?"
"Just the way life is." She smiled slightly. He grinned to himself and pulled out onto the main road.
"Today was a good day."
"It was, wasn't it?" She tried to remember the last actually good day she spent with Niall. "When was the last time we were together and we weren't fighting?" She asked him curiously.
"Hmm, that was awhile ago wasn't it?"
"Yeah. Oh, it was the night you told me about your parents...and you serenaded with me with the song you wrote. I think you should send it to a record company. I'm being serious you should. Do you have any more songs?" She then wondered what he did when he was alone. He already wrote one song about her. How many more songs could he have?
"Oh, yeah they are bad though. I keep them in my journal thing. Not that I actually write in it though, if that's what you're wondering." She laughed at his comment.
"Sure you don't. I'm gonna find it and read it." She plotted.
"No you won't. I am not gonna let you." He smirked at her. She lightly hit his arm. "Hey, do you wanna get into a wreck or something?"
"I would prefer not to. Are we almost there?"
"What you don't like being in my car or something?" He sarcastically asked.
"No, actually I hate your car. You need a Jeep like me." She laughed. He liked the melodic way it drifted through the car.
"Hey, Theresa doesn't like when you talk like that." He playfully added.
"Who the hell is Theresa? Are you cheating on me?" Her voice shifted to a temporary state of sarcasm.
"You dummy. Theresa is my baby." He tapped on the hood of his truck.
"Ohh, you named your car Theresa?" She laughed. "That's a weird name for a car."
"Theresa was the name of my first girlfriend. See this game card?" He pointed to half of a game card from an arcade lying on the bottom of his drink holder. "After our first date at the arcade, we cut the card in half knowing we would find our other half later." He stared at the card and smiled recapturing old memories.
"That's nice." She blushed. "Do you ever think about our future?"
"Like our future for college or as a relationship?" He asked.
"Both, I guess. Mainly our relationship."
"Well from a college standpoint and a relationship standpoint, I'd say wherever you end up going to college I will try my hardest to get into that college. Or at least one close to it." She smiled at his answer.
"I hope you'd follow me." She playfully joked.
"I'd go anywhere with you." He kissed her cheek.
She evaluated his answer. "You really know exactly what to say don't you?"
"Well, I have gotten a lot of practice before you came along." He couldn't help but let out a littel giggle. She rolled her eyes.
"I can't wait to go to college. It'll be so free. No more smothering from my mother."
"You're mother doesn't smother you. She's just over-protecting you. I would too."
"Enough talk about my mother! Like seriously are we almost to your house?" She asked.
"Yeah like less than a minute basically." He answered. Niall was right. It was less than a minute away.
"Finally!" Natalie jumped out of the car.
"My grandparents are inside, so surprise. You get to meet them."
"That's fine with me." She grinned. He grabbed her hand while they walked up his front porch steps.
"Just to warn you, Big Joe likes to talk a lot so just say we have to study upstairs."
"Okay," She squeezed his hand real quick before he let go to open the door.
"Momo, Big Joe?" Niall called out into the open living room.
"Oh, sweetheart!" Momo walked into the living room with an apron on. "Wow she's even prettier than you claimed, Niall!" She walked up to Natalie and pulled her in for a hug.
"Oh, thank you." Natalie blushed.
"She's beautiful, dear." She hugged Niall also. "Joe come meet Niall's lovely girlfriend!" Momo called upstairs. You could hear Big Joe turn the TV off and shuffle around upstairs before he appeared from the darkness at the top of the staircase.
"I'm coming!" He yelled then mumbled to himself.
"Natalie, this is my husband, Joe." Momo said.
"Hi, Natalie. Nice to meet you." He shook her hand.
"Nice to meet you too." Natalie smiled.
"Niall, you did well." Big Joe winked at Natalie.
"Well, we have to go study upstairs for little bit." Niall said and took Natalie's hand.
"I was just baking some cookies so come down when you're ready for them." Momo said to them.
"Thank you," Natalie responded. Niall dragged her up the steps and into his room. He closed the door behind her and dropped his stuff. He turned towards Natalie and ran his hand along her cheek. He leaned into to kiss her. She couldn't help but smile. He picked her up and layed her down on his bed and pulled off his shirt. She grabbed his sides and tugged him against her.
She missed the heat between them when their bodies touched. She liked it. Their breathing got heavier and louder as they kissed more. He slowly moved his hand to the top of her tshirt. He started to pull it over her head. Then, he made his way to her pants. After a few minutes of kissing then pulling clothing off, they were both fully naked. They made love tenderly at first then fiercly. Like they've never done before. For a few hours they forgot everything that happened just a few weeks ago. It was nice, almost relaxing, besides all the pain.
They layed side by side for a few minutes just inattentive the the world outside his bedroom. She thought about their future. She hoped one day they would get married. All she could do was hope.
