"Who's smart idea was it to bet loser buys lunch?" Derrick asks as he rubs his reddened arms.

"The captain, blame the captain," I reply with a chuckle as I roll the ball in my hands. We're having a practice game amongst ourselves as we wait for the other school to arrive. We've been practicing over the weekend and even lunch today to make sure everything is practically perfect. It wasn't hard for the boys but I did have to adjust to the way they play.

"We better not fucking lose, I ain't paying for nobody's lunch," Red snaps at us. "I'm not feeding a bunch of bottomless pits." We're at set point, twenty-three to twenty-four and if we lose here we're feeding the six boys across from us and after seeing how much they eat over the weekend, yeah, I'm not looking forward to that.

"I hope your wallets are ready to sing," Chris taunts, sticking out his tongue at us, his brother joining him.

"I'm going to be so broke," Evan groans as he steps to the side so he's not in the line of fire.

"Tell me about it," I say in agreement.

"Get it over the net," Jason says encouragingly as coach blows the whistle. I throw the ball up in the air, a good height as I jump in the air and my palm connects with the ball as it goes over the net. But the smile on my face slips since I can already tell where the ball is going.

"It's out," Connor calls it just as it hits the gym floor outside of the white line. Coach blows the whistle ending the match as Sean and Evan dramatically fall to the floor in despair while the other side cheers.

"I'm going to be so broke," they both cry out simultaneously as Connor goes over to them patting their shoulders condescendingly.

"We'll make sure to send a list of what you want so make sure your wallets are ready," Connor taunts before laughing mockingly.

"I'm so sorry, that was on me," I say apologizing to my team.

"Don't worry about it, we lost as a team so it's not your fault. We should wrap it up and go get changed since our opponents should be here soon," Red tells us before turning to look at me. "You need a uniform right?"

"Red, don't worry about it, I already got it covered," coach says as he walks up to us, a bag in hand. "It was a rushed order but it came in time for today." He hands me the bag and I reach inside pulling out a shirt and shorts wrapped in clear plastic.

"Thank you so much coach," I tell with excitement as I put them back in the bag.

"You're welcome," he replies looking amused but it falls away as he glares at the boys. "What are you standing around here for? If I don't see you back here in three minutes, you'll be running laps after we finish the game." That gets them moving as they rush to the change room and I stifle my laughter. I head on over to the girl's change room, dumping the clothes onto my bag before wrapping the plastic open.
