We're currently in practice, doing some drills for cool down but my head is in the clouds from three days ago. I'm still processing the fact that Red likes me back, that I took the first step to kiss him, him coming over last night and me falling asleep on top of him, and the two of us getting together; I feel like such a mess and it's taking every ounce of me not to have a stupid grin on my face. We haven't had much time to spend together but sneaking in a kiss here and there makes up for it.
"Anita, I need you to focus," Sean says, interrupting my reminiscing.
"Sorry about that," I apologize. You can continue to think about Red later Anita because now is not the right place and time.
"What's got you so distracted? Or should I ask if a certain someone is on your mind," he smirks knowingly.
"No one is on my mind," I answer quickly, my cheeks puffing out a bit at the obvious lie I'm telling. "I only have practice on my mind."
"You can fool the others but you can't fool me," he shoots back as he glances over at Red for a moment and I notice he's watching us.
"Nothing happened, you're imagining things," I continue and he holds up his hands in defence and thankfully drops the subject. Coach's whistle goes off and he yells at us that practice is over and for us to clean up the gym.
"Something happened between you two and what happened I don't know yet but I will find out," he concludes. He saunters off to help with cleaning and I know once Sean knows the whole team will know as well. I start doing my share of the cleanup going around the gym and grabbing all the volleyballs lying around and I'm about to reach for one a hand reaches out to grab it instead. I look up meeting Red's eyes as he hands me the ball to place into the cart.
"What are you doing after practice?" Red he asks me as he takes over pushing the cart.
"I'm planning to nap when I get home and then do some homework, why?" I question as I pick up another ball and place it into the cart.
"I wanted to take you out for dinner, nothing too over the top but maybe one of the diners or restaurants in the area," he suggests.
"Yes, of course but can we choose one together?" I plead, my eyes widening and my hands clasped in front of my chest as he laughs at my antics.
"If it'll make you happy we can talk about it when I pick you up," he concedes as he rolls the cart to the storage room.
"Yes!" I cheer aloud as I wait for him before locking the room behind us.
"I'll text you later when I come to get you, is around seven okay for you?" he asks.
"Yeah that's a good time, enough time for me to shower and change," I say as we walk to the changing rooms.
