Overly Confident(Kaien Cross X Reader)

A/N: Request for the lovely MiTO-MaRS There are no warnings, and hopefully you all will enjoy! I'm trying my best to keep up with all of my requests!! I am now trying to publish each request after I receive the request. I plan on publishing them either that day or the day following. I pinkie promise to be better at this! XD

SCENARIO: Both you and Kaien have been training to become vampire hunters, however you both are merely novices, not yet ready for an actual assignment. After training one day, Kaien, oddly, left you to walk home alone. He was planning to hunt vampires on his own. Becoming overly confident, he soon finds himself surrounded by level E's.

(Y/N)'S POV:

     "Awh c'mon Kaien, relax a bit. You're making training very intense" I pointed out as I took a break from training.

     "Why relax? What if we ever come across a level E?" He asks in defeat.

     "I hate to inform you Cross, but I doubt we're going to come across any level E's anytime soon, especially being we have only been training for a little more than a month. We're freshies, we won't be on an actual mission for a few more months if not a year from now." I state, "Well I suppose I'm heading home, you coming?" Normally Kaien is more than willing to walk me home. After practice, we'd walk together and talk about our soon to be lives as vampire hunters. When I'd get home he'd give me a hug, then he'd head home to his place. But not today.

     "Uhm... actually... I think I'm going to stay and train some more" He sheepishly claimed.

     "Uh-huh, okay well... I guess I'll see you tomorrow, but seriously, you need to relax a bit a don't strain yourself. You're pushing yourself to hard, calm down and take a break every once and awhile, M'kay?" I shot him a small grin, which he responded with "Yeah, yeah okay... I promise." Then he gave me his infamous smile, which could easily melt to heart of an ice queen.

KAIEN'S POV:

     I finally relaxed once she left. It's not that I feel anxious around her, it's just I know what I am planning is wrong. She'd frown upon it and convince me otherwise. So when she left, I began to prepare for tonight. Tonight will be the night I finally go out and hunt some level E vampires. I've been training for this and I want to show the Vampire Hunters Association, that I'm ready to go on missions now. I'm ready to hunt them, and I'll prove it to the association and (Y/N).

     I waited till dusk, to head off. I wouldn't find any in the daylight, dusk is when vampires are out. When the sun sets that's when these level E's show themselves, that's when they hunt for blood, and search for their next victim.

     As the sun began to set, I grabbed my sword and made my way into town. The cool night air blew my hair out of my face. The roads were dimly lit, the only light around was that of the moon, and faded, dim street lights. I walked until I saw an odd figure disappear down a alley. I quickly ran after.

     When I rounded the corner, the figure escaped into a nearby, abandoned building. I slowly approached the building. I reached out for the door. I place my hand on it, and as if on cue, it slowly creaked open. Without any second thought, I entered and quickly went back to searching for the strange black figure. It was fast but I think I'm faster.

     I followed it to the top floor, to where I thought I trapped it. I unsheathe my sword and was getting prepared to attack. That's when another one came from behind, then another from a shadow. And before I knew it, I was surrounded.

      'I can handle this' I thought to myself, as I tightened my grip on my sword. They slowly closed in, so I attempted to lunge myself at them. When I thought I finally hit one, it moved last minute and I ended up missing it. 'They're faster than I anticipated' I growled to myself. They moved at lightning speed and they made it hard to even land a hit.

     One vampire came to grab me, I ducked then kicked my foot out and tried to trip it. I successfully got it down but it came back up. I jumped over them only to land in front of another. 'They never seem to die...' I mumbled as another grabbed my shoulder. I grabbed it's hand and flipped it over my body. I was surrounded. I couldn't fight all of them at once.

     "What have I gotten myself into" I mumble. I went to swing at another vampire, when all of the sudden it turned to dust.

     "Kaien, I knew something was up." It was (Y/N). She saved my hide. I watched as she swung her hips when she went to kill another level E. She flung her (H/L) (H/C) hair out of her face as she successfully brought down another after another.

     "Well?" She asked. Her voice like an angel's song, "Aren't you going to help?" She shot me her famous smile. I couldn't help but smile back. Together, we slaughtered the largest number of vampires that the Vampire Hunters Association has ever seen. Well okay, actually that's a long stretch, but it was still a lot of level E vampires. I with my sword, and (Y/N) with her whip laced with silver, and doused in holy water, could bring down anything, including this building we were in.

     "I always did hate these blood suckers, but they pushed my hatred over the edge when they tried attacking you, Kaien." She truthfully confessed, "I mean it's one thing to attack me... but loosing you is too much for me to bear... I really like you."

     "Wait... really?" I asked. We officially killed every single vampire in that building, and now we found ourselves confessing our feelings. Strange. To think it took me being surrounded by vampires to get us to tell each other, that we care for each other as more than just friends or partners. Oh so much more.

     "(Y/N)... I like you too, actually scratch that I love you." As I fished that statement, I felt (Y/N) embrace me in a tight hug, causing me to drop my sword, so I could hug her back and never let go.
