08: The Confession

"I need to talk to you."

I groaned. I just wanted to enjoy my pizza! But, I recognized that voice from anywhere. It was none other than Daniel Miller. Daniel and I dated back in my freshman and sophomore year. However, we broke up due to him being indecisive. Daniel couldn't decide if he wanted Maddie or me. So, I dumped him when I found out.

"Emma, please." I sighed. The pain is still there! I mean, I've been interested in Daniel since I first moved to Miami. He helped me move into my house and helped me feel comfortable at Iridium. "Fine. What is it, Daniel? I'm really trying to go enjoy my lunch."

I guess that gave him a glimmer of hope. He cleared his throat before running his fingers through his hair. "So, I got a new Miss Information update. You and Jax, huh?" Is he jealous? He doesn't have the right to be jealous. After all, he was playing with my feelings by cheating with Maddie during the entire relationship.

"Daniel, why do you care? You cheated on me remember. You shouldn't care if Jax and I are in a relationship. Remember, you broke tore our relationship. You cheated with Maddie. So, if I choose to finally explore my options at Iridium so be it." I huffed.

"Babe, is everything okay?" Jax sat down beside me, pressing a kiss on my head before he sat down. Daniel awkwardly, rubbed the back of his head. "I was just about to go. But, congrats to you two. I don't let this one go, Jax. She's a keeper." Daniel smiled sadly before standing up and leaving the cafeteria.

I sighed before taking a bite out of my pizza. Mmmm. Pizza is the cure for everything! Pizza will never judge you or mistreat you. "Emma, are you even listening to anything I'm saying?" I blushed sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Jax. I wasn't listening. Can you repeat your question, please?" I gave him one of my sweet smiles, hoping he would ignore me not paying attention to him.

"I said, what was Daniel doing here?" I shrugged, running my fingers through my hair. "I guess he wanted to get back together. I don't really know. He saw us on Miss Information's blog and I guess he wanted to rekindle whatever we had." Jax clenched his jaw before shaking his head. "No, Emma. He cheated on you. You shouldn't give him a chance. You was lucky to be able to call you his, yet he didn't care. Earlier when we were in the locker room, he was telling Diego how he balanced between you and Maddie. He was saying he was surprised he didn't get caught quicker and how he spend specific days with both of you. He's sick. I'm glad you left him. Be with someone who appreciates you and let's you know your worth."

I smiled at Jax, "Thank you." I continued to eat my pizza while he stared at me. "What?" I said as I ate the delicious gooey pizza. His thumb grazed the outer corner of my lips, "You had some sauce right there."

I blushed furiously. "Thank you. I'm done. We have 30 minutes to kill before 5th period." He grinned before taking my tray and placing it in the bin. "Come on, I want to talk to you about something."

He led me to one of the benches outside in the courtyard. "So, I know that you aren't really looking for a relationship. But, this morning when I saw you take the helmet off not caring about the looks you'll get from everyone something changed for me. I don't know about you, but I see everything in a different light. But, there's something about you. I don't know what it is, but I want to learn everything about you, Emma Alonso."
