Emma's POV
Truth is, I'm intimidated. Jax's ex-girlfriend from freaking Sydney, Australia just randomly appeared in Miami, Florida. Vanessa is already making her mark on Iridium High on her first day. The Panthers are even warming up to her. Trust me, that does not happen often with The Panthers.
Jax repeatedly assured me nothing is going to change with Vanessa in town. I doubt that. I mean, Vanessa is gorgeous. She's super sweet from what I've heard. I'm not jealous... Well, maybe I am.
The truth is, I don't want to lose what Jax and I having going on. The worst thing is yet to come I figured that out quickly.
6 hours earlier..
I was in Honors Physics when the door suddenly opened. "Excuse me, Mr. Rodriguez. We have a new transfer student from Sydney, Australia. Her name is Vanessa." The principal said then referred to us with his next statement, "I am hoping that Vanessa will assimilate into life at Iridium High fairly quickly with the help of her student body." The students rolled eyes before continuing their work. "Well, Vanessa. You can sit by.. Emma. Emma, raise your hand please." I raised my hand with a smile. Hopefully, they won't see that it's forced.
Great.
Vanessa sat down beside me with a smile. Everyone continued with their work and what happened next shocked me. She turned to me, "I know you're seeing Jax. I'm letting you know now he's mine." My eyes widened, "Excuse me?" Vanessa laughed, "You'll see."
Lunch
I was walking into the cafeteria for lunch. Jax and I have been sitting together since our date. To my surprise, I walk into the cafeteria to see Jax and Vanessa locking lips.
She told me. You'll see. Now I know, the worst is yet to come.
