For The Love of Pomegranates

Charms and I haven't seen or contacted each other for a week now, her brothers told me that she was just really busy with work and studies, you see she's a med student who is assigned for duty at one of the prestigious hospitals here in Manila, but it still kind of bothering knowing that Charms and I talk everyday. I sighed. I guess she got really mad because of my case with Anthony.

"Woah, that sigh was way too deep." and yet here I am with the man who caused this. "You and Charms still not talking?" Anthony asked.

"Just keep on driving, don't worry about me" I assured him, we are on our way to the mall because he wanted to stroll around since both of us have our day off.

"If it's about Charm, don't worry too much, maybe your friend is not fond of you having a guy around" 

"I guess so" I said, Anthony and I go out everyday, or we hang out at each others place. I don't know what are relationship is, but he is serious about getting to know me, and letting me know him more. I never thought about this kind of things, since I've given up the thought of having a guy beside me not as a friend but someone special. This has been going on for weeks, and I still don't what we are and why do we do this.

"Eurydice" 

"Yeah?" I glanced at him.

"Have you ah, you know, thought about our set up?" he asked, he also glanced at me.

"Our set up?" I asked curiously, because I am so curious with that set up.

"Yeah, this, going out everyday, accompanying each other. You think we can just make this official?" he asked and he was looking at me, I didn't notice that he already parked the car that's why he can now stare at me intently, waiting for my answer. This is too sudden.

"Anthony, why do you ask all of a sudden?" I tried to make  a straight face but my cheeks and the sound of my voice won't cooperate I am like a cornered puppy in an alleyway.

"Because, Eurydice, I think I now know why you've been bothering me since day 1" he smirked.

"And what is that?" I arched my left eyebrow,  and now I am having cold sweats.

"Eurydice, you make me want to do better, to never look back again and settle with you, it's as if the past years did not matter, Eurydice this confuses me so much but seeing you makes it all clear."  he said while looking at me with those chocolate brown eyes.

"I- I don't know what to say, Anthony this is too sudden." I said whilst blinking.

"I know it's just" he  bowed down his head then leaned on the steering wheel.

"Anthony, I" I was about to say what I actually feel about our set up when he suddenly pulled me near him and hugged me as if his life depended on me.

"Anthony, I think this set up confuses me as much as it confuses you" I muttered.

"It does, but I don't want to lose you" he whispered and his breath brought shivers down my spine. "Again"

"Again?" I asked.

"Eurydice, let's keep this set up as long we need to, as long as we feel that it's right, as long as it confuses us, just please don't go away" he pleaded.

"What has gotten into you?" I nervously laughed.

"Nothing, just please stay no matter what" then he hugged me so tight that I felt that I was gonna melt. We stayed just like that for another ten minutes, it feels so good. Confusing but comforting.

"Eurydice, thank you for making me feel this way again" he whispered again and I only smiled.
