Someone's been staring at me for a minute now, I can't help but lean closer on my computer, I swear this new employee is creeping me out. Anita said she just started yesterday, and the first question she asked was where was I? Like I don't even know her, why would she look for me?
"Nathalie? You've been cloning that part of the photo for like 2 minutes? Look?" Anita said, and then I snapped out of my thought, I saw that the picture is now full of grass even on the face of our client.
"Sheesh, haays Anita, can you please tell the the new employee to stop glancing at me and staring at me, and if she's got something to tell me then she may" I sighed.
"Tell her, you're the one she's got business with" Anita said.
"But, she's creeping me out" I whispered.
"Dear, you're just not used to it, go,ask her, I won't mind even if it's working hours, if you can't work comfortably because of her then go ask her" Anita smiled at me for assurance. I sighed then bit my lip. This is so hard especially that I'm not used to confronting people but I have to do this. So I stood up and made my way to the new employee. She's looking at me as if she expected this to happen.
"Hey, I just noticed that you've been staring at me or taking glances at me ever since I walk through our office door and I heard that yesterday, you were looking for me, why is that?" I caressed my shoulders to ease my awkwardness.
"Oh, it's just that, I think I saw you before, you seem so familiar" she smiled.
"Where?" I wrinkled my forehead.
"Hmm, a long time ago" she pouted, and she's also catching my sight, as if she wanted me to only look straight to my eyes.
"What was your name again?" I asked, maybe I can remember her through her name.
"Claudette" she smiled again that made shiver.
"Hmm, okay. Just could you please stop staring at me, I find it uncomfortable and if you finally remembered where you saw me then tell me I might know you too" I tried to smile and she just nodded her head, before she could say something I turned my back away from him. I breathed in and out. Her presence really creeps me out, she gives that vibe where she knows something that you don't know.
"So? What happened?" Anita asked as soon as I sat down.
"She just said that I looked familiar" I answered.
"Oh at least that now that you noticed she would stop, now go and finish that so that we can have our lunch" Anita said and I just nodded but I saw on my peripheral vision that Claudette still glances at me.
Lunch came, and I can't even eat because Claudette joined us. Anita can't just reject her, she should welcome her and not make her feel out of place so I just quite the entire lunch. Anita keeps on asking her questions which she answered enthusiastically. Everything she does creeps me out.
"So, Nathalie, how long have been working here?" she asked me that made me my brain hay wired.
"Nathalie?" Anita raised her left eyebrow at me. I gulped.
"For 2 and a half year" I pursed my lips.
"Oh, you're so quite"
"She's just like that my dear, she's not the talkative type, took her six months before she became close with me, I'm her only friend here, would you like to be her friend?" I choked at Anita's suggested. What the hell?
