Chapter 26 - Halo

Giving birth may be all intense and magical and stuff, but the act itself is not exactly pleasant. But it's also a beginning of something incredible, something new, something unpredictable, something true, something worth loving, something worth missing, something that will change your life forever.

📍Seattle, Grey-Sloan Memorial hospital

Cristina's POV

I had just woken up and Owen was by the side of my bed and Meredith was sleeping. I had heard everything he'd said and all I wanted to do was kiss him and saw my baby.

Me - Kiss me.

He approached the bed and his mouth met mine.

Me - I wanna see my baby, where is she ?

Owen - She's in newborn care, to be sure everything is okay. But you, you have to rest, you just had a big surgery.

Me - No, no I need to see her.

Owen - Cristina, I know it's hard for you but you really need to be lying down and rest. I promise you that you'll see her as soon as possible.

Me -*sigh* Okay...

Owen - I took pictures, I'll show it to you.

Me - Oh yeah, yeah show me that.

Meredith woke up.

Meredith - Oh my god Cristina you're awake ! To Owen, I told you that it could take time.

Me - Come hug me.

Meredith - Don't you ever do that again, you scared me so much.

Me - I'm sorry, I lied to you...

Meredith - I know, Owen told me everything.

Me - Oh...okay, I'm so sorry...I just...

Meredith - No, don't be sorry, I understand. Besides, you guys should find a name for your little girl.

Owen - I let you choose Cristina.

Me - What do you think about Madi Helena Yang-Hunt ?

Owen - It's perfect.

The next morning, when I woke up, Owen was sitting in the armchair...with my baby in his arms.

Owen - Hey you, look whom l brought to you.

Me - Oh my god, give her to me !

He stood up, and he put her in my arms as it brought tears to my eyes. She was looking at me with her eyes wide open, the same bright blue eyes as Owen.

Me - Hello baby. Owen...how...? She wasn't supposed to be in newborn care for a few days ?

Owen - Yes but she's strong and we're still in an hospital, Arizona said that all the tests were good.

Me - She's perfect, and she has your eyes...I love your eyes.

Owen's POV

The joy I felt when I was looking at Cristina and Madi was indescribable. 'Cause now, she was my wife and the mother of my child and I couldn't have asked for anything better, I had the two loves of my life and Madi looked like Cristina so much, except for the eyes. She had my eyes. And Cristina looked so happy and I knew she'd be an amazing mom. Alex entered the room.

Alex - Hey, I heard that the little girl was here, so I stopped by.

Cristina - Alex, I'm happy to see you.

Alex - Oh, having a baby made you a nicer person Yang ?

Cristina - Shut up Evil Spawn.

Alex - Er, apparently not.

Cristina and Alex spent all their time bickering but the truth was they adore each other.

Alex - So, what's her name ?

Me - Madi Helena Yang-Hunt.

Alex - It's cute. Can I take her ?

Cristina - Yeah, but not too long, I don't want her to become an evil spawn like you.

Alex - Oh, come on !

Cristina's POV

Two years ago, if anyone had told me that I'd a child, I would not have believed it. But now I have one, I love her more than anything and I'm truly happy. And to see Owen so happy, with his eyes shining when he looked at her. I had never seen him so happy, and that made me happy. Meredith, April, and Arizona walked into the room.

April - Hey ! We came to see Madi !

Arizona - Oooh, she has her father's eyes !

Meredith - Alex, give her to me, I'm the godmother.

April - Hello cutie pie !

Now, there were a lot of people in my room. They all talked with their baby voice. It started to annoy me and I had a headache.

Me - Well, it's enough, everybody out.

Arizona - Why ?

Me - Because you're annoying me.

April - Okay...

Me - Come on ! Meredith give me my daughter and get out, I'm tired. Come on, get out ! If I could get up now, I would give you a kick in the pants.

Once they were all gone, it was a lot quieter. There were just Owen, the baby and I.

Me - Come next to me.

Owen lay down next to me and I put my head on his chest.

Hit me like a ray of sun
