Ingrid's POV

Things had been okay with Oliver recently. I would almost consider us both to be friends, we helped each other out quite a lot recently and he hadn't said one rude thing to me since the incident with Marcus Flint. Due to that Flint now stayed way out of my way as his brain linked me to his ball kicking incident. I still laughed about it till this very day. When I told Katie she burst out laughing and nearly weed herself, we both now burst out laughing when we see Flint in the corridor.

When I talk about Oliver and I getting along, I don't talk about Quidditch, as every time I talk about Quidditch he becomes sulky and gets in a bad mood. Due to this, we were still what you would call Rivals but we were nice to each other in normal situations. An example of this was when the gobby first year Pansy Parkinson called me a slut, Oliver Wood uses the water spell to, you guessed it, soak her in water. That was pretty funny.

Another example was when the Slytherin Quidditch team were making fun of Gryffindor, I used a spell to turn their Quidditch Robes pink, they weren't laughing then, neither was Snape. Luckily, they didn't know it was me and I wasn't punished in any way.

I knew that Oliver's kind behaviour towards me was probably only temporary but it didn't make it any less enjoyable. He was nice when he wasn't being an absolute hypocrite. Even Katie thought it was odd, usually, Oliver would have said something insulting about me during their Quidditch practices but that surprisingly didn't happen either.

Today was one of our Quidditch practices and I was getting pretty excited. We had won our first match and that was against Hufflepuff. Yes, they are the weakest team out of all of our teams but they played exceptionally well so I decided that we should practice more together as a team.

I arrived at the Quidditch pitch and began to put out the Quaffle, Bludgers and Snitch. The first to arrive was Finn Murphy who gave me a wink like he does every time he sees me. Eventually, one after another everyone had arrived and we started doing some basic drills. This week everyone was practising especially hard as it had finally sunk in that we nearly had lost our first match. I watched as they passed the Quaffle between each other and the beaters beating the bludgers around shielding all the players from a concussion.

Today I was training with the three keepers as I needed to improve my reaction time. Finn, Esther, Nathan and I took it in turns to save the quaffle from the net and throw it to another teammate. Whilst we were doing that the beaters were smacking several bludgers around and another Quaffle was being passed between my five chasers.

I didn't miss one Quaffle but Nathan did miss one, and that worried me slightly as if I couldn't play, the whole game relied on him and if he failed we lost our chance for the Quidditch cup. We were about to finish our practice in around ten minutes when I heard yells from the pitch below me.

There once again stood Oliver Wood and the Gryffindor Quidditch team. History was not repeating itself and I was not getting another detention. I rolled my eyes and flew down towards them with expertise.

"Why are you here?" I asked.
"To practice what does it look like?!" He said with a sassy tone.
"Ah, this problem again. You really need to start checking the table with the dates and times of your Quidditch Practices." I explain.
"Your time is done, Ferguson!" He snarled.
"Actually, we have ten minutes that you're wasting," I say aggressively.

Oliver looked as if he were about to jump on me, but Angelina stopped him.

"We'll wait at the side!" She said kindly.
"Thank you!" I smile.

Well, at least one person on the Gryffindor Quidditch team is respectful of timing. Katie nodded at me as I left. This probably also meant that the friendship forming between Oliver and me was quickly destroyed, but of course, he had to be irritating and selfish.

We finish up our practice and we walked off of the pitch. I was a little behind the rest of my team as I had to catch the bludgers and put them back for the Gryffindor team. I was climbing up the steps when I heard the yell of a boy.

I turned to see none other than Oliver Wood, who was out of breath from climbing up the steps after me. I really wasn't in the mood for his rubbish after that stunt just then and I was about to tell him to go away when he said these words "I'm sorry." I looked at him almost in disbelief.

"What?" I said in confusion.
"I'm sorry I really should start checking the timetable but I forget because I really want my team to win." He apologised.
"Umm, ok?" I question, my sanity slowly disappearing.
"Are we still friends?" He asked.
"I guess?" I started to question my life.
"Ok, see you later Ingrid!" He waved as he rushed back down to his Quidditch practice.

I had many questions in my mind now, was Oliver Wood actually a decent human being or was this just so I could turn the Slytherin team pink again. Either way, it was kind of him to apologise to me of his own accord. I guess we're friends now. Rivals to Friends, that's kind of different.

I can't help but think that was pretty kind of him to do that, unusually out of character, but I like it.
