Ingrid's POV
I walk to Katie's common room and waited outside for someone.
"Waiting for Katie huh?" The Fat Lady asked.
"Yes, is she in?" I told her.
"Yes, I'll go get her for you!" She said politely.
I watched the Fat Lady yell at one of the portraits to go and get Katie. I wait a few minutes until the portrait opens to reveal Katie standing there in disbelief.
"Not you again!" She joked "come on!" She gestured me to enter and I followed her inside."What is it this time?" She asked me.
"I just had that tutoring thing with Oliver," I explained.
"Oh yeah!" She remembered, "How did it go?"
"Terrible!" I groaned.
"Go on," Katie said intrigued.
"Okay, so he turns up unprepared and then he obviously hates the subject. He then doesn't listen and I have to explain it over again!" I rant "And when I ask him why he's doing this if he doesn't like it, and do you know what he says?"
"Well, obviously I don't! I wasn't there!" She said in a duh tone.
"He says it was for his OWLS!" I exclaim.
Katie chuckles a little at my tantrum over fake information.
"Well obviously that's fake but I don't know what you should do!" Katie blurted out.
"I guess I'll have to do something myself then!" I sighed.
"Yeah, see ya!" Katie smiled.
"Bye!" I waved as I left.
I walked to the common room and waited for the riddle:What came first, the Phoenix or the flame?
This was quite an easy one. As the Phoenix is just reborn over and over again it would be a cycle.
"It is an infinite cycle that never ends!" I say.
The door opens and I enter, stumbling up to my dorm room and collapsing in my bed. I wake up the next morning and go through my lessons as normal. I then realise what I had to do, confrontation. That always solved it for me. The only problem was that Oliver was my crush and I go weak in the knees every time I see him.
I decided just to do it anyway and grab him after charms.
"If you don't like a subject you don't voluntarily study for it!" I hissed at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Oliver stated.
"Why did you want to study for History of Magic if you didn't like the lesson?" I ask him once again.
"Uhh... umm..." Oliver struggled to come up with an answer and started sweating a little.
"You don't have to like a subject to study for it!" He fired back, finally. He seemed relieved as he had thought of an answer.
"Why are you studying this early?" I fire another question at him.
"Umm... because I want to?" He says questioning himself as he says it.
"Why do you want to?" I ask.
"OWLS are pretty important!" He defended himself.
"Even Penelope hadn't started studying yet so you are early! You can't make that excuse Wood!" I say, trying to get answers but I was failing.
"Uhh.." he says before dashing off down the corridor.I think that this is impossible, this boy is a mystery and I guess he wants his thoughts to stay a mystery too. I roll my eyes and walk down the corridor. Why is it that as soon as you start to understand someone they say something that throws you even further back than before?
I shuffle down the corridor in confusion walking to my next lesson, Herbology. At this point in time, I was starting to question everything about Oliver Wood, even why I liked him.
It was bothering me that I didn't know the answers, I either knew them or found out about them in some way but this was not the case and it thoroughly annoyed me. Why couldn't he just tell me! I'm a Ravenclaw, I naturally want answers so it's torture to say something and not give a proper answer.
Now I was determined to find out about the mystery that is Oliver Wood.
