Ingrid's POV

Today was another Quidditch practice. They were becoming more and more important as the Gryffindor Vs Ravenclaw match is coming up and I really wanted to beat Oliver and Katie, just to annoy them but also to impress Oliver. This was why we trained more, to win.

This evening was particularly chilly and when my team walked down I mostly got complaints that it was too cold to practice. I ignored those comments and we started to fly around the pitch passing the Quaffle as a warm-up. We had been practising for around ten minutes until Oliver and the Gryffindor Quidditch team barged in, once again.

"You know Wood, I think it's now your thing to barge into practices!" I exclaimed.

"No," He smiled "Just came to check out the competition!"

"Well, I would prefer it if you left," I said politely "We prefer to keep our form a secret!" The rest of the Ravenclaw team nodded.

"Well, that's probably because your form is pretty bad." Oliver joked.

"We're pretty good actually!" I gloat.

"Prove it!" Oliver smirked.

"Get your brooms!" I say in a determined manner.

The Gryffindor team grab their brooms and I gesture to my reserves to sit down. I then ask Dakota to open the box with the Bludgers and Snitch inside and also ask her to referee. She agrees and I ready myself for the release. They were released and then the Quaffle was, the game began.

I scanned the Quidditch pitch for the snitch and out of the corner of my eye saw Harold tackle Angelina and grab the Quaffle off of her. I watched as one of the Weasley's beat away a bludger from Katie and then Sydney scored. I then spotted Harry who was looking around frantically for the snitch, behind him was the snitch. I took this to my advantage and zoomed towards it and the snitch took off.

I chased after it and Harry chased after me. I was about to grab it but Harry had a sudden burst of speed from his Nimbus 2000. His broom was slightly faster than mine so he managed to take over me. We chased it again and Harry reached his hand out and grabbed the snitch.

The game was over. Thankfully, this wasn't the actual match and just friendly play but we were beaten 220-80. The annoying thing is that we could have won if my broom was faster, damn Professor McGonagall for spotting Harry's talent and giving him a broom.

I turned to Oliver and saw him smirking at me, his team had won and now I would probably never hear the end of it. I should never have caved in but I wanted to impress Oliver, my crush acting up again. It was starting to get on my nerves.

"I thought you said you were good!" Oliver teased, flying towards me.

"Hey, we would have won if I had a faster broom!" I defend my team.

"Yeah, Ingrid was great!" Allison, my beater yelled.

"I have to admit that she's right." Oliver shrugged.

"I guess that's practice then..." I trailed out.

"I guess..." Oliver mumbled.

I told my team to put the stuff away and to return upstairs and let the Gryffindors practice. Lyric let out a sigh, Fred Weasley had been flirting with her. Now I knew what flirting actually was, I think I was out of it that day.

I shuffled past Katie who gave me a wink and mouthed "Talk to him!" My eyes widen, yeah how about no.

Almost as if he had read my mind Oliver spoke. "Hey, Ingrid. We should do that again sometime."

"Why?" I asked.

"I find it amusing when you lose!" Oliver mocked.

I roll my eyes and trudged back up to the Ravenclaw dorm room. I realised then that I had to answer another riddle, this was actually getting exhausting.

The door spoke:
Green and harmless on the top,
But at the bottom danger lies;
So if you're not careful when you take me,
you will meet your quick demise.

This sounded like a plant as it talked about green. I now have to think of dangerous plants, the only one I can really think of is a Mandrake. I guess that I can try.

"A mandrake!" I spoke clearly, a little unsure. The door creaked open and I stepped through. I clambered upstairs and collapsed onto my four-poster bed.

If we couldn't beat Gryffindor today, could we beat them on the day of the match?
