Ingrid's POV

It's here! The end of the year, that meant that it was the end of year feast. It also meant that the House Cup is awarded to the house with the most points. I knew that we wouldn't be first but I couldn't help but hope that we could win two trophies this year.

It started with the feast. We were all sat down comfortably and then Dumbledore's started his speech. He talked about the school year but then it came to the House cup. We all listened carefully. Gryffindor was in fourth place, Hufflepuff was third, Ravenclaw was second and Slytherin was first.

I knew by the glint in Dumbledore's eye, that he was up to something and I was right. He announced that he had extra points to give out. This was his speech:
"Firstly, I would like to give 50 points to the Ravenclaw Quidditch team for not only winning the Quidditch cup but for being fair and determined." This made me extremely happy as this meant now that we were first but that changed.

Dumbledore then awarded points to Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were all in Gryffindor and 160 points were added on, meaning they had won. These were the scores:

1) Gryffindor with 482 points.
2) Ravenclaw with 476 points.
3) Slytherin with 472 points
4) Hufflepuff with 352 points.

Overall, I was pretty happy with how it had turned out. Gryffindor deserved to win the House cup if they didn't win the Quidditch cup. I looked over at Katie and Oliver, both of them were happy and cheering for their team. The Slytherin banners were then changed to Gryffindor banners and the feast began.

It all went quickly from then on, and before I registered it I was in a carriage alone on the Hogwarts Express. I had my rat Almeric on my lap, he was sleeping and I was stroking him absentmindedly. That was until the doors were opened and Katie entered, along with Oliver. I looked up and smiled and Katie looked a little surprised.

"Where's Penelope?" She asked.
"Well, she's with her secret boyfriend. I can't tell you who he is!" I say dramatically.
"I will tickle it out of you!" Katie said seriously but in a joking manner. Oliver laughed and sat next to me. Katie sat across from us and started wiggling her eyebrows when we began to hold hands. I sometimes regret becoming best friends with a second year.

"Doing anything over the holidays?" I ask everyone.
"I dunno, probably just sleeping," Katie said.
"I'll probably be playing Quidditch!" Oliver said happily. "What about you Ingrid?"
"Well, I don't know. I'll have to find something to entertain myself." I sigh.
"We could write to each other." Katie shrugged "You know, the thing we do every summer."

"I think that is a very good idea!" Oliver agreed. I nod also.
"But what would we write about?" I ask.
"Well, you two can write love letters..." Katie said gesturing to Oliver and I "And I will send you all howlers to annoy you!"
I roll my eyes. Katie had sent me a howler last summer, it had involved her yelling at me for eating her sandwich friend Derrick. Weird, I know but that is why Katie and I are friends. Because we are both fairly weird.

"I just remembered that we'll get our Owl results!" I say.
"Trust you to be excited about that!" Katie rolled her eyes.
"Well, I don't know how good I did, but I'm terrified to find out my levels." Oliver shrugged.
"Why? You'll have done great!" I reassured him.
"Then again, that coming from you," Katie teased "And let's be honest you'll get all Outstanding's and still be annoyed you didn't get higher."

I look at Katie and roll my eyes. I then realise how close we were to getting home.
"We're nearly home!" I say looking out the window. They laughed at my enthusiasm before we all promise to write to each other.

I wave goodbye to my friends as I climbed off the train and grabbed my bags before heading home with my family.
