Yet another modern one shot. Next one will be Viking so don't worry.
This one is kind of like a summer tribute. School just recently got out for me and I wanted to write something about how the gang would react to leaving school for the summer.
*********************************Hayden POV
Mr. Grimborn's class all had their focus on the clock mounted on the wall. Summer was only seconds away at this point and everyone was on edge.
"Come on just a bit more..." I mumbled to myself.
The clock struck 4:30 and the bell rang. Papers flew and cheers rang around the classroom. Students bolted out of the room and ran to enjoy the summer and meet up with friends. I myself ran out with my friend Francis to go meet the rest of our group.
*********************************
"Die learning books!" Terry yelled as he threw his textbooks to the ground and proceeded to stomp on them.
"Finally! We're free at last!" Scott exclaimed.
"Good Riddance! I don't think I could last another minute in that prison" Rachel added.
"Oh come on guys, it's not that bad" Francis reasoned.
"YES IT IS!!!" The rest of us yelled in response. Francis just raised his hands in defense.
"Just saying" Francis said.
"I personally am glad to have the summer to have no sense of learning, once so ever" Heather said.
"Same here. I could use I break" my girlfriend, Astrid, agreed.
"Couldn't agree more" I replied.
"Well while you guys relax, I'm just gonna go ahead and burn all of my 'learning' books" Terry grinned.
"Why would y-" Francis started.
"Oh! And don't forget my burning pile!" Terry exclaimed.
"Burning pile?" Scott asked.
"You heard me" Terry responded.
"Throughout the year Terry and I have been keeping all of our school papers and have saved them, just so we could burn them in tribute to the end of school" Rachel explained. (Fun fact! This is my end of school tradition)
"All of that poor, poor knowledge gone to waste" Francis said with a crestfallen expression. Heather pat him on the back.
"Okay then..." Heather commented.
"You guys wanna head to the Cove? We can grab a bite to eat and hang out there" I suggested.
The Cove was a secluded area I had found when I had crashed my bike on a trail. It has a few openings were we can get in. Its got a bunch of space, a big oak tree that we added a tire swing onto, everything there looks new and green, and to top it all off, it's has a kind of pond thing where we like to go swimming. We always pack out swimsuits in case we decided to go.
"Sure! Let's go!" Terry exclaimed as he ran his car.
*********************************
"GERONIMO!!!" Terry yelled as he cannonballed into the pond, spraying the rest of us with water. Rachel, Heather, and Francis followed in suit.
Scott was preparing to jump in by the water's edge when Astrid ran up and pushed him in. He emerged from the water and glared at Astrid, while she laughed at him. I took this opportunity and picked her up bridal style and jumped into the water.
"Hayden!" She yelled before we hit the water.
We emerged from the water and I couldn't but laugh at her face. Her soaking wet hair was all over the place. She brought her fist to my arm in a hard punch.
"Ow! That one hurt!" I complained. Apparently Astrid decided to make punching me a regular thing. Lucky me.
"Oh stop being such a baby" Astrid responded.
"Your mean" I pouted.
She just rolled her eyes and planted a kiss to my shoulder where she punched me.
"Better?" She asked.
"A bit, but it hurts here now" I grinned as I pointed to my lips. She rolled here eyes and placed a kiss to my lips. We broke the kiss after a few moments. I wrapped my arms around her waist and grinned.
"I'm starting to feel better" I said.
She smiled and leaned over and was about to kiss me again, when water was splashed over at the two of us.
"Seriously?" I groaned.
"What? I for one don't wanna have to deal with you two and your random PDA this summer" Scott replied.
All of us couldn't help but laugh at Scott's reply. Something tells me that this is going to be a pretty interesting summer.
