Prologue:
Johns POV
I'm approaching the New Bostin airport with my father, and to be honest, I am more than a bit nervous. After a year of therapy, legal matters, house arrest, and entrance exams, I'm finally leaving. I look up at my father; he has a blank look on his face, but as though he could feel me looking at him, he turned to me and smiles.
"You nervous?" He asked me with a weak smile.
"Just a little bit," I paused for a bit, "Actually, I'm terrified.."He gives me a concerned look, and asked "What for? Is there something wrong?"
"It's just," I took a deep breath. "I'm scared that this might happen all over again. That I'll be betrayed or that I'll snap or that some student will find out about what happened here and leak the information. I'm just scared that everything will go wrong."
We reached the plaza, I look up at the huge clock in the very center of the room, my flight for Wellston would be leaving in 20 minutes.
"John," my father put his hand on my shoulder, "This is what's best for you, don't worry about the past, look towards the future, think of what lies ahead. As long as you don't tell anyone, your secret will never get out." He gives me a reassuring smile, then his face turned to a stern expression."But if I hear even the slightest rumor that you've been causing trouble you're coming straight back here, you better behave yourself!" Dad paused, and added almost as an afterthought "Oh, and whatever you do, remember to keep in touch."
Now it was my turn to smile. "What you think I will forget about you?" I gave out a small laugh "Never."
We loaded all my luggage onto the plane and I approach the boarding area, over the intercom a voice says Wellston fight 117 will be leaving in T minus 3 minutes. I start walking towards the plane about half way along I turned around abruptly and ran back towards my father, embracing him in a bone crushing bear hug.
"I'll miss you," I say still hugging him as tight as I can "I'll call you the moment I get to Wellston."
"I'll be counting on it," he says, as he pulls apart from the hug to hold me at arms length. "It's funny the passage of time, even though your so much older all I see is the little baby I held in my arms so many years ago."I scrunched up my nose, as I can see his eyes tearing up. "I love you John, don't you ever forget it, you are not a monster nor a tyrant, you are my son." I could feel my eyes starting to water myself.
"I love you too dad,"
Last call for Wellston flight 117 the plane will be leaving in one minute, the lady said in a cool voice.
"I gotta go," I tell him "catch ya later!" And I ran off towards the flight, ready to start a fresh life at Wellston High School, where hopefully wouldn't be as crazy as the first one.-
