The Royal Ball. A ball held by the royal family every year to celebrate the Princess' birthday. Perrie Edwards, the Princess, has always been pictured as perfect through the eyes of everyone. Her parents, the public and of course, Alex, a royal servant. Perrie and Alex have always taken a liking for one another, but have never fully admitted to their feelings. Yeah there were a few flirty gestures here and there, but they never made it official, who can blame them though, a princess and a servant? That's just not right. Well at least in the eyes of the King. The King and the Queen both saw something between the two. The Queen had always secretly wished for them to get together. On the other hand, the King had never accepted it, all he wanted was for his daughter to marry a prince. But love is love, and nothing can come between it.

Perrie's P.O.V
"Perrie dear, hurry up now, the guests are waiting," mother says walking into my room.
"Yes mother, I'll be down in a second".
Today was the day of the royal ball for my 18th birthday. Every year all I want to do for my birthday is to have a small party with just friends and family, but every year that's not what I get. My father is always insisting to throw a grand ball, inviting everyone to come. Some people I've never even met before. But of course I could never disappoint my father.

I take one last look in the mirror before heading out of my room. The castle was all decorated in white and gold, the lights brightening up every single hallway. I let out a small sigh as I look down below. The room was filled with loud chatter as everyone enjoyed their night. I begin slowly taking a step down the stairs making everyone turn their heads towards me.The attention started to overwhelm me as all eyes were on me. My anxiety levels rising each step I take. But then all of it suddenly disappeared as my eyes landed on a specific someone. A smile slowly made its way to my face when my blue eyes met the brown eyes I've grown to fall in love with. Suddenly I'm snapped away from my thoughts as father whisks me away.

"Perrie, i'd like to introduce you to Prince Issac" father says
"It's an honour to meet you princess" Issac says placing a kiss on my hand
"It's an honour to meet you too" I smile
"Why don't you two go and get to know each other for a bit" father says before walking away.

He always does this. Every year, he tries to set me up with a new prince. I keep telling him that I'm not interested but he never listens.

Before Issac could start a conversation, I quickly excused myself and headed out of the ballroom. I slowly made my way into the back garden, away from all the noise. The garden was a place I'd always go to whenever I needed to clear my head or some time alone. The peaceful atmosphere has always managed to calm me.

I sat down at the marble bench and stared at the night sky. Sometimes I wished to be a star, twinkling bright in the night sky where no one could tell me what to do and what not to do. Everyone thinks that by being a royal, your life is easy, but it's not. Everyone pictures you as this perfect person, having high expectations. And if you do something wrong, they'll judge you. That's why I just want to be taken away to somewhere beautiful where nobody knows my name.

"I knew I'd find you here" A familiar voice says from behind me.
"You always find me" I say smiling as Alex takes a seat next to me
"So, what are you doing out here?" He asks
"Getting away from everything" I say leaning my head in his shoulder
"I got you your present" he says handing me a small box
"Alex you know you didn't have to"
"I know, but I wanted to"

I lifted up the lid to see a beautiful necklace inside.
"Oh Alex, it's beautiful" I say in awe
"Just like you" he says as a blush makes its way into my cheeks
"Can you put it on for me?" I ask handing I'm the necklace
"Of course"
I move my hair to the side as he clips the necklace on.

"Will you dance with me?" He says suddenly
"What?"
"I said will you dance with me"
"But there isn't any music" I say looking at him in confusion. Alex then takes his phone out, playing soft music before taking me hand.
"May I have this dance?" He asks
"Of course" I reply smiling

I wrap my arms around his neck as we began swaying slowly to the music.
"I love you Perrie" he says suddenly taking me by surprise
"You know we can't be together" I say softly
"I know. I just wanted to let you know" he says smiling at me
"I love you too Alex" I say before connecting our lips. The kiss was gentle and magical. It was all I've ever dreamed of. I was finally kissing the one I loved most. We then broke apart from the kiss, resting our foreheads together.

"I wish it could be like this forever. Just us and no one around to tell us no" I say softly
"Look at me Perrie" he says lifting my chin up to face him, "no matter what happens I'll always love you and I'll always be here for you. This is our fairytale"
"I hope our fairytale has a happy ending"
"Pez, all fairytales have a happy ending"
