Colours

~13 years ago (Alex and Perrie are both 5)~

Alex's P.O.V
"Alex honey, can you be good boy and bring this cake to our new neighbours?" My mum asked
"Yes mummy" I said, carefully taking the cake from her
"Oh and Alex, I heard that the new neighbours have a daughter the same age as you, why don't you play with her and make her feel welcomed" she added
"Okay" I said walking out the door.

I carefully made my way next door, knocking once I reached the door.
When the door opened, a women stood in front of me
"Hello dear, what's your name?" She asked
"Uh, my name is Alex" I replied
"what brings you here Alex?" She asked
"Um, I live next door and my mummy made this cake for you as a welcome gift" I said showing her the cake
"Wow it looks delicious, tell your mum I said thank you" she replied taking the cake
"Oh and my mummy said you have a daughter, can I play with her?" I asked
"Aw, that's so sweet of you, I'm sure she'll love to play with you, let me get her" she said making me smile brightly
"Perrie, can you come down stairs please" she called out

Soon, a little blonde girl came skipping down the stairs. She was wearing a blue flowery dress with her hair tied up in two piggy tails.

"Perrie, this is Alex, why don't you go take him to the backyard to play" her mother said
"Okay" Perrie said as her mum left us.

"Come on, lets go" she said taking my hand and dragging me outside
"What's your favourite colour?" She asked sitting in the grass
"Um, I like the colour blue" I said, also sitting down
"My favourite colour is blue too" she said excitedly
"But blue is for boys" I said making her pout
"No it isn't" she said crossing her arms
"Yes it is"
"No, I believe that everyone can like whatever colour they want" she said making her point
"Alright, I'm sowwy" I apologised
"It's okay" she said giggling

~Present Day (13 later, Alex and Perrie are now 18)~
Perrie's P.O.V
Right after I got dressed, I quickly sprinted over to Alex's house, knocking on the door.
"Good morning Wendy" I said when she opened the door
"Perrie, how many times do I need to tell you, you have a spare key so you don't need to knock, and you basically live here since you're over everyday" she said laughing
"I know, but I don't want to be rude" I said laughing with her
"Alex is still sleeping by the way but feel free to go wake him up" she said
"Alright" I said Walking up the stairs to Alex's room.

"WAKE UP ALEX" I yelled jumping on top on him
"Perrieee, nooo" he whined
"But it's Saturday and I wanna do something fun"
"But I want I want to sleep"
"Fine then, I'll find someone else to hangout with since my best friend thinks sleep is more important than me" I said pretending to get up
"Wait Perrie no, don't leave me!" he yelled getting up which caused me to fall on the ground
"Oww"
"Sorry Pez" he said laughing
"It's not funny" I said pouting
"Aww, little Pearbear is upset, I guess I'll just have to make that frown turn up side down" he said as he began to tickle me
"N-No Alex, p-please stop" I said laughing uncontrollably, pushing his hands away
"Only if you accept my apology" he said, still tickling me
"Alright I forgive you" I said laughing

"Now come on, Lets go have breakfast" he said, holding out his hand which I gladly accepted. We walked down stairs to see pancakes on the kitchen table.

"About time you two came down, the pancakes are getting cold" Alex's mum said
"Sorry mum" Alex said

~After breakfast~
Alex's P.O.V
I can't do it anymore. I need to tell her. I need to confess my feelings for Perrie. I've been trying to keep it in for years, but everyday my feelings become stronger and stronger. I need to tell her that, I love her

"Perrie can I talk to you outside?" I asked
"Yeah sure"

We made our way to the backyard and sat on the bench.
"so what did you want to talk about?" Perrie asked

"Um well, I understand if you hate me forever after this but I just need to get this off my chest. Ever since I met you when we were 5, And when you told me that people can like what ever colour they want, I knew you were different, there was just something about you that makes you so special. I've never met any other girl like you, and when I started developing feelings for you, I tried to hide them away because I didn't want to ruin our friendship but everyday, they just get stronger and stronger. I can't hold it back anymore Perrie, I love you" I said quickly.
I stared at her as she processed what I said.
"I'll just go" I said getting up
"Alex wait!" Perrie called out, grabbing my wrist making making me turn around to face her
"That was the sweetest thing someone has ever said to me, and Alex, I love you too, so much more than you could ever imagine" she said smiling. I picked her up and spun her around happily, making her giggle. Once I set her back down, we rest our forehead against each other.
"I love you so much" I said
"I love you more"
"Impossible"
