What To Do

Things most easily said
Are often the ones hardly true
The actions we do not carry out
Are often the ones we must do
Our thoughts are often the same
But the direction varies
Depending on whether we are sane
Or simply staying in the game
Because it is where we started
And we don't know from where we came
Whilst the end is too unclear
For us to risk leaving out of fear
Of staying around to see the next day
And replay the mistakes we know we will make

We are used to telling our children
What they must do and must not
We forget that what must be done
Is not decided by our hearts
What we are told we surely do hear
Sometimes we even listen clear
However it is the heart that decides
To where the blood flows
And how we live our lives
Depends on where the energy goes
It is the soul that knows
Where we are to go
It is our mind that speaks
And accompanies us
In our fight to find
A path where our heart and soul and mind
Can walk together
And learn to always be kind
To the child inside ourselves
Or it surely will die
Along with the light in our eyes.
