Poem: Great Show

Great Show

They say she has it all right
Great parents and a future looking bright
She still wears socks folded neat
Combs her hair and never wears it free
But it was cut short recently
Just a haircut obviously
She wears glasses and they say she's smart
Never dated before, but one day will start
They say she has it all
Presented to her in a tall pile
She plays for the football team
And was in the magazine committee
Though her writing was not printed
She never asked for justice to be granted
One like her
Does not deserve
To feel upset
When everything is perfect
And the show is great
There's nothing to hate
Reality will have to be hidden away
Behind the curtains backstage
The actress must play her part
No time to fall apart
But as the day comes to a close
So does her act and the show
And she will once again sit here alone
Behind the curtains where the spotlight never shone
