The Loser

A loser that tries
That's what I am
A loser that dreams
Even when I can't achieve
A loser that sees
Themselves winning one day
Even though
There will never be such a day
A loser that has never felt
The joy of being at the top
A loser that keeps her head held high
Sitting at the bottom of the pile
Keeping on a smile
Refusing to accept
What they have made of her
What they see in her eyes
What they call her behind her back
What they say to her face
What they name her and her ways
What they hear when she speaks
What they believe is so weak
Everything I am
I tell myself I'm not
A loser that can only lie
If she wants to stay alive
A loser that refuses to die
Despite being such a waste
A somebody that's worth less
Than the empty space
Somebody who's place
Doesn't even count
In anyone's world
No matter what they say
We all know
This soul is worth
Less than you could ever hope
