Philosophical Stuff (Part 2)
It is evident that in some cases, people's lives are almost entirely held stable due to their cultural norms and beliefs. Even if they are intelligent, kind individuals, their cultural or religious preconceived notions rule over their attitude towards their environment - it is as if these notions are the supports that keep their lives stable and is the main source of purpose for the individual. When this support is faced with the threat of being destroyed, the individual becomes defensive and the sense of lack of control becomes too overwhelming, it seems, that they simply turn to stubbornness towards the thought of parting from these beliefs which happen to play such a significant role in their lives.
I am conflicted, however, as to whether this is a healthy way of living. This sort of refusal to let go of a preconceived belief can lead to conflict between people of contrasting cultures which can therefore lead to conflict within society, hindering progress and prosperity as a whole. It can also be a distinct obstacle along the path to world-peace.
Hence, I may conclude unofficially that the solution to all conflict is simply open-mindedness and the willingness to accept change with open arms if it is for the betterment of people and favoring peace. However, not all acts are purely for peace or at all for peace, though they may seem as such. I am a child, thus I do not fully understand this, albeit I still stand by my own beliefs that change is the key to world-peace.
It is not as easily done than it is said, however.
This is just me trying to practice being intelligent and using the more sophisticated sections of my vocabulary, for once. I'm not sure if it's working; what do you think? Also, what are your thoughts on this rant; have any different ideas? Do you agree, do you disagree? Tell me in the comments. :)
