A/N For the record, I'm underage so I haven't the slightest idea about drinking. I made everything I wrote up based off of other novels and movies, rather than experience.
Thank you SO much for all the reads, comments and votes! They literally mean so much. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter! xx
• CHAPTER TWELVE •
Providence's POV
The next morning, Ashton and I officially announced ourselves as a couple to the rest of the band.
In hindsight, breakfast was probably not the best place to do it. Definitely the most entertaining for us, but not so much for the well being of everyone else.
We were at an IHOP, halfway through pancakes when Ashton gave me a look. I raised an eyebrow, and he leaned over and whispered, "Let's tell them."
"You know, secrets don't make friends," Michael said loudly from across the table, and I laughed.
Ashton took my hand, and all three boys' eyes zeroed in on our intertwined fingers. "Prov and I are an official couple."
Calum, who had been drinking orange juice, literally did a spit take. He sprayed juice all over, and I cringed.
"What the hell, Calum?" Ashton asked, but he was laughing, wiping his forehead off before using the same napkin to wipe my chin.
Michael punched Calum, mopping up his arms. "Fuck off, mate. It's not like you were that surprised."
"I was!" Calum insisted, throwing up his arms, only to dump the glass of orange juice onto the table.
We all leapt to our feet. "I can't believe you," I muttered as waiters hurried over clutching napkins. "Way to go, Calum."
"Your fault for springing it on me during the middle of breakfast!" Calum shot back, and I laughed.
"Alright, fair enough, but was knocking the glass over really necessary?"
Calum flushed. "That was an accident."
Michael had come between me and Ash. He threw his arms around both of us and pulled us into a hug. "You guys are so cute. You will make the cutest little babies ever."
I jerked away from him with a startled laugh. "Excuse me?" I asked in disbelief, but I could feel myself smiling.
Michael wiggled his eyebrows. "You heard me."
"I wish I hadn't," I retorted, sticking out my tongue childishly. "Besides, we started going out last night."
Michael glanced at Luke, who had been stoically stabbing his pancakes since Ashton had taken my hand. "Ah."
"Hey, congrats, you two," Calum said, gingerly holding a new glass of orange juice.
Michael frowned. "If you spill this one I swear-"
"I won't," Calum assured Michael, patting his arm. Michael swatted his hand away, and Calum laughed, the two of them tussling playfully.
"Watch it!" I said, barely managing to move the glass before Calum's elbow nearly upended it a second time. "The people here already hate us, do we need more incidences? Besides, I already hate you guys."
Michael chuckled. "No, you don't. But if you say you love me, I'll stop."
"You're a menace."
Michael paused. "I have an idea. Say that you love Ashton, and then I'll behave for however long you're with us."
