Yusrah...
Everything was moving on smoothly for Yusrah. Bilal sent 2.5 million Naira into her account for her tertiary education.
She was sitting down on her mattress when the message entered her phone.
She shrieked and jumped when she saw the huge amount of money.
"Keh! Are you sick in the brain? Why are you jumping like a maniac?".
Ummi, who was outside preparing dinner said, peering through the curtain, wearing a grimace.
"Ummi, Bilal sent me money to continue my studies!".
Ummi glared at her and asked the amount.
"Ummi its 2.5 million!".
"What do you mean?".
Ummi asked, furrowing her eyebrows, confusion and shock clearly written on her face.
"Ummi I mean, miliyan biyu da rabi".
"Kaiiii! Its too much. And in fact, your Abbu will not even hear of it. So you better do yourself some good and return the money back!".
Ummi said and went out.
Yusrah stomped her feet in anger and slumped back on the matrass.
Going to university was her biggest dreams in life, she wanted to be like those big, classy girls who out there. And now her father is coming her way.
She hissed and threw her phone across the bed and sobbed silently in her pillow.
☁☁☁
The next day, Bilal called her;
"Good morning angel, how was your night?".
"Fine".
"Good baby. Today is Monday and I heard JAMB registration have started, so its better you register as soon as possible. I will send one of my boys to take you there".
Yusrah didn't say anything all these while, so he asked her.
"Babe why are you silent?".
"Uhmmm..... Bilal?".
"Yes, baby".
"Abbu will not let me go to school".
She said in a muffled voice, ready to cry.
"Haba now baby don't cry okay. Don't worry I will talk to Abbu okay? Now please stop crying baby".
He said, whispering.
She smiled and nodded her head sheepishly. And in no time, he flinged her out of the gloomy mood.
Bilal...
He turned and snuggled more in his comfy duvet, putting a pillow on his head, because the buzzing alarm was disturbing him.
Buzzzzzzz.........
It rang again.
He hissed and turned it off, before dragging his sleepy body to the toilet.
He performed ablution and prayed fajr salah, read his Quran and took his shower.
He checked the time on the wall clock and saw it was 7:35am.
He picked his phone and dialed Abbu's line, sitting down on the couch.
On the second ring, he picked.
"Salamu alaikum Abba".
"Wa alaikassalam Bilal how are you?".
