I tapped on the bright screen as I sat in a chair next to my front door, my eyes glued to the stained wood in silence. I could only wonder what kind of trouble I got myself into. Every bone in my body didn't trust the snake in a girl's body that I just invited over to my house. But in a way, I was determined to out-compete her and win, almost as if we were pawns in a game.

It didn't take long for there to be light knocks on the door next to me. I gulped and jumped up, exhaling deeply to try and wash out any lack of confidence. It didn't work, but I at least would try and hide it, determined to intimidate her. My shaky hand grabbed the golden knob, unlatching the lock and opening the heavy door hesitantly. Instantly, my heart dropped. Even though I was expecting Bomi, it was a sight I never hoped to see. For the first time, Bomi entered my house with a smile on her face, her bright pink cell phone in hand as her eyes explored the large open area. My living room, dining room, and kitchen. I stared at her with worry but she never gave me a returning glance. I watched as she slid off her heels. Even after lowering, the girl still towered over me.

"Rose? Who's here?" I heard my mother call out from her bedroom around the corner. Before I could answer, I saw her enter the room, wide eyes locking with Bomi who gave her a sweet smile. I lived with my mother only since my mother was a teen mom, my father abandoning her as soon as he heard the news. Soon, there were tiny footsteps as my pug jolted into the room to run to me. But instantly stopped at the sight of Bomi, her scent of sweet cotton candy filling the entire room now.

"Nice to see you again, Miss Park," Bomi spoke sweetly. "Where's your room, Rose?" Her head turned to look at me with a small smirk on her face.

"Upstairs, second door on the right," I spoke quietly. I watched her nod and disappear upstairs, everyone's heads turning in her direction. I slowly approached my confused and shocked mother. I noticed her mouth open to speak in the silence but I cut her off before she could.

"I'm going to give her a second chance, mom," I whispered to her, my eyes staring deep into hers. I watched her hesitantly nod, exchanging glances to the staircase and back at me.

"I'm going to run a few errands, would you like anything?" She said awkwardly. I knew she just wanted to leave the awkward atmosphere.

"I'll text you," I responded quietly again, watching her nod and head towards the front door to get ready to leave, putting a leash on my dog. She didn't even want my pug to be caught in the middle of this tension-fest.

I mentally laughed, carrying myself up the stairs hesitantly. Though I didn't want to, I didn't trust Bomi alone in my room. As soon as I walked in, I shut the door quietly behind me and watched Bomi who sat on my bed and played with the bag of pretzels that I forgot to put away. She looked up to make eye contact with me, her smile gone now.

"Salt makes you bloat."

I nodded a bit and gulped.

"You have a bathroom attached to your bedroom?" She turned to face the white door that was swung open, revealing the dark bathroom. I nodded slightly and silently. "You're lucky. Your mom won't worry about you." She made an amused exhale as she stood slowly, making her way to the bathroom, flicking on the light to explore it with her eyes.

Her hand traced over my thin white and pink shower curtain that covered up a tub and showerhead. She then turned to look at the toilet and beside it, the electric scale I bought. She made a small smile as she watched it, stepping on it to turn it on. I watched with curious eyes as she got on and looked down at the number on the screen: 49.7 kg. I watched her make a small huff. I didn't understand, I would kill to be her weight.
